This is the 9th stick in a series of 10 mystery sticks from penguin13.

#9 is about a 6x46 coffee brown well rolled beauty with few veins. Good construction. Prelight arome got my attention right away as it smacked of that spiciness I'm so fond of. That in and of itself gave it some points in my book.

Toasted and lit, it gave out a decent amount of smoke and the draw was quite nice too. Nice medium body and flavorful enough to hold my attention. Opens up past the 1 inch ash mark and there seems to be a steady slow build in the medium body taste. Nice white ash held to about 1.5in.

The finish was OK; nothing really spectacular just straightforward medium body and enough spicy woodiness to keep everything burning to the nub.

On a scale of 1-10 penguins, #9 rates a nice solid 7.5.

What is it?

The statement "This one I can almost guarantee we have all tried at least once. I'll even bet a lot of you have some in your humis right now :)" gave it away. People are always talking about 5 Vegas.

Too true! I have a few of those. The first one I smoked out of the box was not distinctive. With some age, they are readily identifiable as Don Kiki products. Decent smokes.

Wow, really nice Low!
I have had the torpedo and like it very much for the straightforward medium body smoke that it is. A really nutty smoke, but never did I imagine the 5V corona would hold my attention like that one did. Sure kept me guessing.

Funny Penguin13 would say that: "can almost guarantee we have all tried at least once. I'll even bet a lot of you have some in your humis right now"

I was figuring with my limited experience I would be one to say "Not me". But danged is he isn't right. I've got about a dozen in the humidor. Unfortunately they sit in the "wish I had a couple hours" section next to the Perdomo wheels and Hemingways.

One more to go. I have a request for JD or Penguin...after #10 runs its course do a reprise listing the cigar mystery #, name brand and # of Penguins bestowed upon it by JD. I know we can search back for all the old reviews but it might be nice to have them conveniently compiled into a single post. Just a suggestion. Thanks.
