Firstly - my apologies to any Postal Workers out there - this is not meant personally against anyone - but a very frustrating situation is starting to be a pattern.

I know that ranting against the Post Office is almost too easy - but lately - what the hell is going on ???!!

I sent Robby a package from NJ to GA - Priority Mail, Insured - it took 11 days !!!!!

I sent Chris a package from NY to CA - Priority & Insured on April 14 -today is the 26th, the package is not there !! 12 Days - Priority Mail !!! Surely you jest ... to say nothing of almost $150 worth of cigars. But the good news is - in another 5 business days - I'll be able to file a claim !!!!

I don't want to file a claim - I wanted Chris to be able and enjoy his 1926 PAMs and his Opus Xs and 64 PAMs etc....

2 different states were mailed from - 2 different distribution centers used - 2 different states as the intended address...something is up with the way the USPO does business.

My strong suggestion is that if you have special smokes that need to get somewhere - consider a service other then the Post Office Priority Mail.

Doc, you may want to consider UPS and FedEx in special situations.

heh, amen... In our case though, it worked out :-) but it's a real ba!! buster when you put your babies in the mail (and believe me, you have some beautiful children!) and it's like rolling the dice.

I've used nothing but USPS mail ... and never had a problem. I've even sent it frst class ... and they've got there in the same amount of time.

In the trade I did with octowings (I live in CA and he in IN) we both sent on a Friday (I think it was, if not then Thursday), and we both received our packages on Monday.

No problem here ... we both commented to each other how great the service was!

I don't know but in dozens upon dozens of trades and such I have never had a problem with priority mail.Frankly I don't know how they do it to tell you the truth always 2 days 3 at the most.

Gotta agree here!

Phil (redsoxfan) sent me a beautiful assortment in a trade via Priority Mail, and it took three weeks to arrive. In the meantime, he sent a second very nice assortment after I gave up on the first package. Now I have a lot of great smokes, but it wasn't fair to Phil.

Of course, I am preparing my appreciation package for Phil, but this wasn't the first time that this happened to me. I had several auction items that I sold on **** disappear in the postal void, never to be seen again. I make sure I add Delivery Confirmation, which is free if you print an electronic label at http://www.usps.com. Seems to help packages from getting "lost".

Wow doc! I've not had a problem so far. And your package got to me in really good time. You might have struck out somehow and got all the lazy a$$es working the mail for both staging and destination! but then that wouldn't explain how mine got to me in good time, less of course, they were off that day?

Funny how the only time I ever forgot to get delivery confirmation was a box I sent to El Gato.Disappeared.And the absolute worst choice for shipping is Airborne Express.Got a message on my answering machine from the local contractor when I was out of town. When I called back I was told the package had been returned.Said the package would be sent via U.S.P.S. from their hub to my P.O. box,as they could not deliver to a P.O. Box. Though that didn't stop them from accepting the package. And the local contractor could not give me an airbill number, said they could not access Airbornes' data and didn't keep a record of what they sent back.Needless to say,I never saw the package and whoever sent it got hosed both for shipping and whatever was in it.That's Airborne Express, folks.Keep it in mind when choosing a business shipper.

Doc - I don't understand it myself, but I'm still holding out hope! This is the first problem I've had in almost a year, but as you say it's not exactly a cheap problem in this case.

We'll see what happens this week, hopefully they'll get it done and it'll all be good.

Ahhhhhh......docs package actually came Sat. That is 2 days (as claimed) after it was mailed! How does someone trade "mid-level" sticks and receive the same number traded including an Opus, Padron, Punch, etc.?????? Doc, you are a good man!

I am thrilled that the package was received - I have enough worry re Chris's shipment. Make sure you are partaking of some very special beverage when you fire up that PAM 1964 Series....

I made a trade with Huskey and sent him his smokes and he sent me 10 or 12 Carlos Toranos, but when "they" arrived, the package was opened and had a USPS notice attached that they did not know what happened, and that I had to file a "claim" etc....lots of paperwork later and Clark sent me some more sticks (he did not have to, but did so) and still have not heard word one form USPS regarding the damaged, and lost shipemnt, but they did send the empty tube to me! True story!

Charlie

PS the Postal Workers in Costa Mesa got a blast and LTAO when I was complaining about the sticks. Typical.

It's sort of like when your luggage gets lost...

I've never lost any luggage...but last week when my daughter was returning from her 1st trip to Europe, it took 2 days to get here luggage home...security concern due to the dagger w/gun that she was bringing home to her brother...apparantly, security held it up and the plane left w/o it...

It's all in the luck of things...

Roman,
Good news your package arrived today, actually I had to go to the post office to pick it up but... I am blown away at the bonus sticks you included, I feel like a moron compared to what I sent you. And I thought I was doing good sending what I did, I'll definitely get you back on this one.

The deal was the postman wrote on the box that he attempted it and no one was there, my admin must not have seen the pickup notice he left so until I went and looked around for myself the note was hidden. Sorry for any headaches this caused...

I appreciate your incredible generosity, and thanks for the trade!!

What a relief !!!! Glad you like the assortment - and now you can better understand why I was concerned about someone else adding these sticks to their humi rather then them getting to their intended destination.

PS - After my experience with Robby - I am getting to really like when folks say they will retaliate !!

Bring it on !!! - There's more where these came from !!
