I just put together a "sweater 'dor" for some long term maturing. Do I need to add any holes to the soap dish, w/ florists wet foam, for better humidification, or leave it as is (18-20 holes in the bottom dish)? I'm storing the cigars in old cedar cigar box inside the sweater 'dor. Using a 50/50 starter solution, but no hygrometer, yet (have one coming). How often should I let this breathe (change of fresh air)? Or do I even need to? Any other tips, or tricks?

I would open it up once a week and fan it with the lid if you don't plan on going in there regularly. As for your humi device, let your gauge decide for you. Put your gauge in there (after calibrating it) and see what it reads after about 6 hours, then decide whether your humi device needs more holes or not.

ok x.

i tried to figure out what you meant by 18 holes on the bottom of the soap dish. i just can't picture it. all the soap dishes i use have a closed top and bottom for traveling. i leave the top off.

are you talking about a soap dish for the sink, that drains?

No, actually this is a traveling soap dish. It allows the water to drain off the soap before you put it away, with the lid on. Also lets it breath (dry out) so it dosen't become liquid soap while stored. Works great upside down (holes on top) with the wet foam in the top. So far seems to be working. Got my hygrometer calibrated last night and when I got home today it was at 71%.
Good to know to let it breath every week or two. Kind of works out with the weekly CI Fulfillment deliveries...ODO here...lol

see what patience will do for you.

mix the cigars also so the dry ones on the bottom get to the top, + it is so much fun playing with the cigars.
