Just had a chat with the fine folks at Fuente. They said that the MSRP of OPUS ranges for 7 to 25 bucks a stick. This is not taking into account tobacco taxes which ranges form state to state

Uh ... what are you asking? If I understood your question ...

Tobacco tax is based on wholesale cost ... not MSRP. But, if you know what the tobacco tax is in your state (I posted a link here not too long ago), if you add that to the MSRP's in the above link ... that's roughly what you will be paying.

Remember ... is going to be very rare that you will get MSRP for Opus X, or any other hard to find, high demand cigars ... LOL! Supply and demand will always command a higher price ... and the tobacconist knows they will get it.

Good luck!

Makes sense. I can't believe my spelling in my previous post!! I think I remember graduating from high school. Or maybe that was someone that was a previous me in a former life.

Anyway thanks for the info on hard to find cigars and I will check into the taxes. I think they are at 7% here in South Carolina.

And we want to keep it at the 5% as long as possible. That is the normal sales tax for us, despite continued attempts by the anti-tobacco lobby.

I saw OpusX in the Davidoff store in Las Vegas selling for $35 to $50 a stick depending on size. In Malibu, they were selling for $35 also. I think we get jipped on the West Coast (but it's still worth $1 a puff!).

Dayum X you serious??? And I thought $29.95 was steep! Picked up the last two he had. Don't know when they'll see fire, but when they do they will have some really nice age on them. Got mine in Oct 2002.

Wow X. $199 a stick? That's about $10 a puff. Check out Fuente's next creation, the Forbidden X inside a bottle of XS Calvados at www.cigarinthebottle.com. I'm sure those will go to the high rollers in Vegas. I previously guessed that these will retail for $350 a bottle. Rumor has it they are only going to release 10,000 cases a year (60,000 bottles/sticks). I may have to rethink my guess, especially if sold in Vegas.
