Last night "Tarheel" twisted my arm for a late night smoke by offering me an Opus Perfexcion No.5. I now understand what all the stir is about. WOW is all I wrote in my cigar journal. The real reason for fire is to light these cigars! As soon as I get back in the ole USA I am going to hit the trade board and offer up some of the many ISOMs I have aquired during my recent travels with the Navy for some more of these babies. Just wanted to share the moment.

P.S.- Steve, need your email or addy so I can get the newbie bomb on the way, wouldnt want to break tradition.

I'll tell you what.......when you're out here in the middle of nowhere, it's the little things that mean the most. I got the urge last night to relax and enjoy one of my finest smokes, but I couldn't do it alone. I called up Harleyred and asked if he was up to a smoke. He had no idea I had an FFOX in my pocket for him, as well. It turned out to be a nice night. I can't wait to get back home where I can actually sit down and enjoy a good smoke with Harleyred in a decent restaurant where we can reminisce about our times in Operation Iraqi Freedom.

1st - Thanks for a Job Well Done with Our Navy !!!

2ndly - drop me a line at docrks at army dotcom - I have a few boxes of the Opus X that are always looking for a good home in exchange for some ISOMs... We can also pursue this discussion on the TRADE board if anyone gets their nose disjointed that you asked about a swap on this board. However, to them, we respectfully answer -

Whisky ---Tango----Foxtrot

Tar and Red...that's what it's all about; sharing the leaf and sharing the moments. Glad you two have that and hope you keep it going.

My hat is off to you and all of our military for a job well done!

Thanks JD, with people out there like the ones I have met here at CBID, it is my honor to serve. The nightly cigar sure makes it easier.

The nighly cigar does indeed make it easier, even if I did have to go from the outstanding FFOX, to a La Finca the next day!!

The real reason for the fire on the band, and for the breakaway image on the bottom, as opposed to the top, of the Opus X band, is that the Opus X was Carlos' opportunity to break away from those who said he could never successfully grow Dominican wrapper.

I'm not sure if I read it some where or if I got it from someone at Fuente. I go to lots of the Cigar Aficionado Big Smokes and try to hang out with the staff there to get inside info. I've met Carlos, Jr. a couple times. Great guy. Also met his sister. She's a hotty (hope my wife doesn't see this...)
