I have been a regular bidder on CB for a while and am an avid cigar smoker. Just thought to check out the forum area today while waiting on new auctions. Read most all entries for last week and feel that you folks would be worth mingling with. I am not into alot of BS but do see good potential for valid information on smokes. I smoke a variety of cigars with an inventory of >700 sticks of "good, bad and ugly". I try to promote cigar smoking at all my public outings (usually handing out sticks for folks to try). I enjoy conversation on the subject of cigars so here I am.
Well, off to have a little AM smoke - BUD.

I knew that "worth mingling with" would draw some fire! Not meant to sound snobby - sorry. Never scored well in English composition - LOL.

Welcome fellow Texan!.

Lot's of brothers in your part of the state.

(So you think E-Chick has figured out our master plan to get C-bid to move down here from PA? Have to do something to save on shipping time).

Thanks to all for making me feel at home. How many Texans are in the group anyway?
E Chick the handle comes from my famous golf swing. I hit "fat" most of the time, more turf than ball.

Just got back from Lackland AFB last week. My son was graduating from basic there. My parents live on northside of town also. Maybe next time up there will hook up.

My brother lives in Pearland! I used to shoot Alligator Gar and catch human sized catfish out of the Sand pit now known as Tom Bass Park.
Shooters is the best place for a jalapeno cheesburger.

Fatshotbud,
Welcome to another Texan. I'm here in Northwest Houston (Cypress). I'll put you on the list when we try and get a few of us together, usually when Mr. Mean is in town. Good to have you here.

Checking back in and wow there are quite a few folks here from the "Friendly State". Alright Mean, you know where Shooters is, I live back up the tracks about 3 miles from there. Jazzman, I found out today the son will be staying at Lackland through June due to some kind of back-up at Egland in Florida. So may be in the area next month - keep the cutters sharp! If ya'll have a get together in Houston area let me know. Thanks again for all the response!

Howdy wer, have you been to that cigar shop off of Sawdust Rd? Pretty good walk-in humidor. I do work for a little company down the road from there.

Yea, we're nearly neigbors Barry. I'm sandwiched between I45 & the Hardy, Louetta & Cypresswood. Bud - what's the name of that shop? I commute south everyday while the wife heads up to the Woodlands. She must pass it on the way to work.

Jreddoch passed along another good one on Richmond called Richmond cigars - still haven't visited but they have a nice web site (can't remember URL - do a google search).
I'm out of pocket much of the summer but I'd love to get together and meet some of the other Houston herfers.

Cheers, Bil

Lonestar Tobacco on 1960 next to Mathius has an excellent selction and are very good people. The Smoke Inn on Jones Rd. is down the street from me and treats me very well.

Yeah I guess that is actually The Woodlands. Turn left (West) off 45 and it is in the little strip center on the right about 100+ yards.
No joke, with as many folks this close we got to have a get together.

Plan is to head down the second week in July for a week in a beach house round Galveston.
I don't think the kids would mind if we kept em up late and stunk up the neighborhood.

Know all the cities mentioned, born in El Campo, spent summers in Alvin and Houston and I was raised in Jackson, MS. Now I live in Southern California...........enough about me, there are a lot of Texans on this board.

Dang Charlie, talk about culture shock. Come back to Texas when you can't take it anymore. Good luck!

Hey Mean drop me a line when you are ready to head down and I will swing down to Galveston. Lived there for 19 years, do not really miss it though. I work offshore on oil/gas production platforms and fly out from Galveston quite often.

"Spent summers in Alvin".

Fond memories of sweating?

I'll get out the word when I'm nearing my arrival.
I just wanna fish.

Mr. Mean, don't forget to buy yourself one of those very expensive temp. fishing license. I'd let you borrow my wifes' but you'd have to wear a bikini and we'd have to call you Sally. I don't think the Game Warden will go for it. LOL
