Believe it or not, Sherlock is really my name. It's usually taken when I sign up for lists, so I usually just add 04 for consistency's sake.

119. Author: defconDate: Sun, 11/3/2002, 6:11AM EST
Its mainly from the fact that people say I act like everything is a matter of dire urgency. SO i gave my self the name cuz I like it and it goes with my personality. Thats why I like gar smoking cuz I just sit back and enjoy and pay attention to nothing else.
120. Author: laxmanDate: Sun, 11/3/2002, 6:23AM EST

123. Author: cooksta2Date: Sun, 11/3/2002, 5:55PM EST

I thought you were in some kind of mafia chef gang. ;)
125. Author: sluggo819Date: Tue, 11/5/2002, 6:37AM EST
My wife started calling me sluggo because when I work out or do anything strenuous I get a big vein running down my forehead that she thought looks like a slug. The 819 is the month and day I entered this crazy world.
126. Author: gerberDate: Tue, 11/5/2002, 7:44AM EST
With a last name like mine, inviting as it does a host of cultural associations and thoughts of little jars of strained peas, I decided that it was compelling enough to simply stand on its own. Ironically, my first name is Dan, which was also the name of the founder of that more infamous Gerber of babyfood fame. And yes, to anticipate the inevitable questions, I very much enjoyed my Gerber baby food as a tot. These days, however, my tastes lean toward Avo, Partagas, and Hoyo. Nice to be joining you all!

132. Author: RknRmndDate: Thu, 12/12/2002, 10:18PM EST
Name came from friends in high school. Was on a wrestling team that had 5 championship years and (1) 1st runner up. I was the stubborn itallian that never quit. So they called me the Rock... or Rockin Raymond. Shortened to 7 letters when I signed on Aol several years ago because my first, middle, and last name have 7 letters each.

"iquester" because I used to participate in a "think tank" research group twenty years ago called I-Quest. We did a lot of internet research and demographics. I needed a "handle" -- Thought it was a good one then. Though it no longer fits my profession (Minister) I decided changing handles was too much work. I kind of like it. -- Mike Gardner
136. Author: bayouman68Date: Fri, 12/13/2002, 6:30AM EST
bayouman68 derives from the cajun french word "to towel off."

137. Author: GuestDate: Fri, 12/13/2002, 6:31AM EST
Initially, I hurried to create a username, and used my name, “what a dumb @$$!” so I decided to change it…

A few years back I won a couple of national titles (NCAA) in the high jump (track and field), and before that I was a basketball player whose forte was dunking.

mines obvious
144. Author: SteveSDate: Sat, 12/14/2002, 10:23AM EST
Mag ... someone who's shot a 67 is indeed a "good golfer" ... but for those of us who shoot in the high 90's, even the low 90's looks pretty good ... LOL

A recently departed friend of mine used to be a teaching pro here in the Bay Area ... he astonished me one day when he told me that I was in the best half of all golfers in the US ... I told him that simply wasn't possible for a guy who shoots between bogey and double bogey pretty consistantly ... he assured me it was true and said that half the golfers in the country have never broken 100 ... dunno where that leaves guys like Tony who might as well have called himself TonyTheTiger as far as his golf game and mine are compared ....
145. Author: smithbwDate: Mon, 12/16/2002, 10:14AM EST
I guess I am a "New" guy. Sure feels like it to me.

I was in the Army for years...(Infantry). So, don't expect anything original from me.

Last name Smith; being in the Army everyone calls you by your last name - that is until you get enough rank to be identified otherwise - and it was not easy to be identify in a group. So, I was always refered to as smithbw.

Plus as I said before I was infantry so if I forget my username (last name) I can always look "somewhere" to find it!

Regards,

B

149. Author: bildoDate: Mon, 12/16/2002, 11:35AM EST
Well, my name is William, thusly, I usually prefer to be called Bill. Some of my buddies decided to call me Bildo because they are remarkably clever and it rymes with ****. I did not realize when I registered that I'd be posting on a forum and that, at least on this board, be the guy whose name will forever ryme with ****. Seeing how everyone here has a fairly good sense of humor, I'm going to ride it out. No pun intended. ~BILL
150. Author: SteveSDate: Mon, 12/16/2002, 12:04PM EST
best of luck, Bildo ... you're sure gonna need it ... best you break out some Rhino armor
