One more (dumb) question.

Why not 1,000?

55. Author: cigarbidwidowDate: Fri, 10/14/2005, 6:17PM EST
So do you think we can get this up to 500 before the night is over?
56. Author: John hay CigarsDate: Fri, 10/14/2005, 6:18PM EST
BF, it won't let you
57. Author: John hay CigarsDate: Fri, 10/14/2005, 6:18PM EST
It shuts down at 500
58. Author: cigarbidwidowDate: Fri, 10/14/2005, 6:20PM EST
Actually you can still top them after 500 but you can't read anything after 500.
59. Author: John hay CigarsDate: Fri, 10/14/2005, 6:21PM EST
ok, smart a$$
60. Author: cigarbidwidowDate: Fri, 10/14/2005, 6:21PM EST
Hey, we are up to 60 already.
61. Author: teedubbyaDate: Fri, 10/14/2005, 6:22PM EST
There are a lot of threads that don't interest me so I don't look.

*yawn*
62. Author: John hay CigarsDate: Fri, 10/14/2005, 6:23PM EST
10 posts in 7 minutes....where is ddand B when you need a calculater????
63. Author: rugrunnerDate: Fri, 10/14/2005, 6:24PM EST
I don't care for them, but I don't mind either. I think the 500 threads have cut down on the silliness on the other threads. It gives them a place to go and stay out of trouble (like the boys and girls club). Good for them.

I don't understand the apparent holier then thou attitude some of the "500 club", but that doesn't bother me either.

I too remember where some came from and why (as MACS said) and choose to ignore them.
64. Author: BottomFeederDate: Fri, 10/14/2005, 6:25PM EST
Aah- got it.

So I do my political/personal bashing on another thread, but just have fun here?

(Yes, that bashing thingie was just a joke)

65. Author: pabloescabarDate: Fri, 10/14/2005, 6:27PM EST
...hey, Rug you iz ignore"n mez?
66. Author: rugrunnerDate: Fri, 10/14/2005, 6:39PM EST

67. Author: rugrunnerDate: Fri, 10/14/2005, 6:40PM EST
Elsewhere I pay rapt attention, and hang on every word.
68. Author: ddandbDate: Fri, 10/14/2005, 6:44PM EST
On to 100!!

I was busy photoshoping.
Have to get all my talking in now before my new picture hits the picture forum and everyone stops talking to me...

ABBA inspired me...

I dont see a problem with the 500 threads. And about the bandwidth... how has the usage of this bandwidth affected any other threads? Is it effecting the performance of this site in any way? It hasnt for me.

I've posted on them twice. It wasnt my "cup of tea", but it wasnt in any way offensive. I say have fun with it. It aint hurting anybody.
70. Author: bloody spaniardDate: Sat, 10/15/2005, 2:50AM EST
Ouch.
I am both saddened and surprised by this thread.

A chat room w/sound sounds like a great idea.
I would be the first to partcipate in it.
Mrs. Delta told me that she had a blast on the "party line" at e-herf.

Mike, my prayers are with you, brother.

It a free place. I'm not an elitist, and people are entitled to their opinion and to do and say what they want within the rules of the forum. I was always taught that you could learn something from everyone. So I try to, even from the arrogant or silly. I don't think it's productive to slam someone who may have a different opinion or have a different definition of what is fun.

This place has so many different personalities and people from different backgrounds that an attempt to mold it into an ideal place for yourself is bound to fail. That is esepcially so on a forum board where any emotion implied in what the speaker is saying is lost in the translation. So sit back, relax, and try to have a good time!!

Judging from the posts on this thread, those who are verging on "creep out" are a conspicuous minority.

RAM's Bull Shot is today in Honesdale, PA. The weather is splendid.

72 posts and as near as I can tell only 4 people are creeped out by it. And of thoses 4 I don't think 3 of them would have bothered saying anything if it hadent of been for a certain 1.
74. Author: SlimboliDate: Sat, 10/15/2005, 5:34AM EST
Justify all you want ... it's just an opinion that was expressed to me, and I chose to post it. It is just as valid and anything you say.

Do you honestly think that those who find the mentioned threads bothersome ... are going to jump on here to be ridiculed by you all? Most that find them a waste of time won't open them anyway ... which I believe is a far greater number than you all want to admit.

Me ... I'm use to it ... and it doesn't bother me in the slightest to post my observations, some will agree ... others will not.

That's just the nature of free speech ... you will continue to say what's on your mind, and I will do the same ...

... and life goes on.
75. Author: jjohnson28Date: Sat, 10/15/2005, 5:55AM EST
Ah Slimboli, one of many Don Quixote's of the internet bulletin boards. Guys you will have to forgive my friend Slimboli, even after oh so many years he still just doesn't get it. The mans heart is surely in the right place but???

Although I personally haven't participated in any of the aforementioned threads. All I can say at this point is...

...On to 500!

Thnsk for adding to this thread Slim.. We need all the help we can get to get it to 500
78. Author: MACSDate: Sat, 10/15/2005, 7:16AM EST
The irony and the humor of the people being complained about jacking this thread and taking it to 500 has not escaped me.

As I said, I remember those FEW who came here to start crap. That doesn't include everyone who participates in those threads, but those FEW know who they are.

For now, i'll still choose to skip the 500 threads.

just a thought.
84. Author: pabloescabarDate: Sat, 10/15/2005, 10:36AM EST
hey can I put in my .02
85. Author: TrannyMkDate: Sat, 10/15/2005, 11:13AM EST
Since the 500 threads are VERY clearly marked. Anyone who is offended by reading these need to exersize a bit of self control. Or does just the sight of the thread title bother you?

This is way too petty to argue about.
86. Author: jjohnson28Date: Sat, 10/15/2005, 11:16AM EST
TrannyMK the voice of reason. This is too weird...LOL

Hi Mike!
87. Author: J.RedlegDate: Sat, 10/15/2005, 4:44PM EST
Slim & CBid, and for those concerned about bandwidth issues. Please take a look at the 500 thread wherein someone posted 260 posts in 6 minutes. That should be looked into a little bit closer than some B/SOTLs having a little fun.
88. Author: jetblastedDate: Sat, 10/15/2005, 4:56PM EST
It just seems silly to me . . .
89. Author: J.RedlegDate: Sat, 10/15/2005, 5:13PM EST
Sure it does, it's silly for someone to devote half a day opening and setting up 260 posts to enter in a matter of minutes - all in an effort to shut our little thread. It also poses a severe risk of jamming up the servors and closing down all the forums.

Beyond being silly, I suspect it was vindictive and malicious. If so, I hope CBid yanks every identity of this "Piri" individual. I don't think that was funny.
90. Author: 8trackdiscoDate: Sat, 10/15/2005, 5:41PM EST
Ok, now I'm finding the 500 threads interesting.

1- People post to get to 500- some think its funny.

2- A person hijacks the 500 and briskly brings it to the end- some think its funny.

Now (stay with me here) if I understand this correctly, the same folks that were telling Slim to loosen up, its all in fun, are unhappy because someone was having fun, with the thread that was designed for fun, but some of the fun people, that started the fun thread, are upset and don't think what Piri did, was funny.

Man, am I getting dizzy.

Look on the bright side- with the developments of the 500 threads over the last couple of days, everyone has had the opportunity to be happy AND ticked.

Variety- the spice of life.
91. Author: pabloescabarDate: Sat, 10/15/2005, 5:46PM EST
and Disco you is post'n, very cool...
92. Author: J.RedlegDate: Sat, 10/15/2005, 5:46PM EST
Exactly!!!

LOL!

It is pretty funny! Thanks 8Track making me laught! I needed it!

93. Author: SlimboliDate: Sat, 10/15/2005, 5:56PM EST
How soon we soon forget ...

... wasn't it was 'Piri' who originally 'outed' this group from Cigar World, when they first came to CigarBid ... with the soul purpose and intentions of distrupting the CigarBid forums ...

... and even the moderators at Cigar World publically repremanded them on the said cigar site, and warned them of possible revocation of posting privileges if it did not stop.

Why is it that you don't see these types of threads popping up all over the place over at their 'home' forum, in what they call 'Ward B' ???

I just find that a little odd that since most of the posts are made by that same group of people ... why are they reluctant to play these games on their home turf ?

I'm not saying that they are not welcome here ... I just find that a bit odd.

You know ... I seem to recall that Piri said he would return, if he felt that things were starting to get out of hand again ...

... hummmmmmm ... who was that masked man ?!?
94. Author: SlimboliDate: Sat, 10/15/2005, 6:03PM EST
... and I do believe that 8trackdisco hit the nail on the head ...

... this IS turning out to be a lot of fun after all ...

;^)

96. Author: andytvDate: Sat, 10/15/2005, 6:07PM EST
WTF???

I can't believe we are still going on about this!!

Whatthe hell is the difference if someone wants to have some silly fun and play on the 500 post threads??????

Your lone stranger comes in with upticks - that's not what the posts are all about - it's about a group of people getting together and sharing some fun. A Seinfeld type thread.

Or did this person not read the posts and simply took it upon himself to shut down the thread? Like I said, if Piri is who I think it is - he and all his aliases should be concerned. He may have only cigarworld and his bottle to turn to soon enough.
