A good rule of thumb hat has been mentioned many times, but seems to be forgotten sometimes leading to $hit like this, "Send better than you expect to receive, otherwise buy them yourself." |

Taps, the problem I have seen is you send cheap smokes then ask for nice smokes in return... It's not that complicated. From some of the PIBs i've seen you send, you sent a few $2-4 smokes then asked for a bunch of borderline $8 smokes and some $10-15+ smokes in return when it is supposed to be a non-elitist PIB where smokes are less than $8 msrp. If this happened once or twice than I would just say its a nood mistake but you keep doing it. And before anyone brings up my original PIB again I am fine with what I was sent. You also mentioned that you threw the 5 vegas in your latest PIB because you knew you would never smoke them. Maybe the recipient likes them but I wouldn't use a PIB as a way to pass some trash. I made the mistake of asking for cigars over $8 MSRP when I did my first non-elitist PIB and I got called out on it. I didn't realize what MSRP was on some of the smokes I was asking for, I was a nood... You have been called out more than a few times about the MSRP of smokes you are requesting and keep posting the same list. At least try to send smokes equivalent to what you are asking for and if someone bombs you with some elitist smokes thats up to them... Some of the vets around here like to pick on noods that way... And they will get what they deserve... |

We all want to be able to help each other out and give better than we receive. For that reason, most will shy away from a pib, if the only cigars they have on the list are the easy to find/ medium range sticks, out of a list full of other stuff. When you list the high end items, to the brothers here you are stating that you should receive at least something from that end. For example on a non-elitist pib, list 1 or 2 HTF's and balance the rest of the list with easier smokes you would like to try. Its really not about what is given or received, its about the fellowship. As long as everyone gives as well as or better than they hope to receive, it all works out in the end. Meh. This thread was mild for Taps86. Most of his thread cage matches have been deleted and the best ones weren't even on this forum. He could go off the rails with all the grace of a 3-legged dog trying to hump a beach ball while falling down a set of icy stairs. Such being said, I seem to recall selling him a bunch of Opus X and Anejo cigars on another forum and the transaction went off without a hitch. |

Such being said, I seem to recall selling him a bunch of Opus X and Anejo cigars on another forum and the transaction went off without a hitch. Yup. Aidan sure got riled up when he was called out and tried to defend himself. Some of those flameouts were entertaining but for me, after awhile they were just downright boring as it just became pizzing and Internet shouting matches. I was never sure if he did that to just amuse himself or it was part of his true, split personality self. Ultimately I find it funny (...in a sad way...) that he came back with another handle after saying "F'CK ALL OF YOU!" and iirc, said he was done here (...or something to that effect - I don't really GAF what he actually said so won't be searching for his direct quote...). |

Joel don’t think so, they just had a baby like 2 years ago? I don’t know exactly when. yes, she did suffer a stroke, just outside the door to where she worked. and they had a baby too. she had been a distance runner and was gonna have issues ever walking again...but she was up and running after a tremendous amount of PT and effort. He sent me a link back then of the video over time of her progress, I think a local TV station ran with it. I actually cried while viewing it. It was awesome to see. |

Here’s the thing IMO especially in this forum.
There’s a quiet class to oversending and to being a gentleman about what you enjoy. Then there’s a quiet class to what you receive, if you get something you don’t particularly care for you can always find someone or shoot even send to OpFTH.
Braggart done right (Wheel) and braggart done......just to brag.....
I don’t hate Aiden, we “get along” but I wouldn’t ever even do a transaction with him. Hope is wife is doing better. He admins a whiskey group that I quit even looking at, if your running algorithms to score whiskey for resale I don’t want a GD thing to do with ya. |

Good old taps. Whenever he turned a chit show was always about an 1/16 of a step behind. This was pretty classic taps. Receive top tier smokes in a trade and send out 💩. Oh, and did I mention how often he spoke of swigging Pappy 18, 23, 25 or whatever the years are.

Winner, winner chicken dinner. That’s the one. Head and shoulders the absolute most infamous thread ever posted here. Seems 4-5 people created aliases and poured truckloads of fuel on that inferno. Both Lancaster and Taps got banned though Lancaster did make a reappearance as Havano Hoe or something similar. About 10 people, myself included, had to spend a week or so in timeout. It was truly EPIC. Yes it was deleted but IIRC T-Gerb found it on the Way Back Time Machine thingy. I had it bookmarked on a laptop that has since died. I may have migrated my old favorites from that laptop to my new one before it died. I’m about to take a shower so I can run the last 177 miles home. I’ll check later to see if I have the Time Machine link. |
