Glenfiddich 12

At the B Bar in Borgata. Was the first time I had this as I usually reach for Glenlivet 12 when buying for the house and think that the Glenfiddich was slightly better.

Glenfiddich is not bad and normally a little less than the other Glen's. JMHO.

The 10 has a nice balance of peat, but its definitely strong. If you don't like peat you won't like it either. I think that's Laphroaig's thing is lots of peat, from what I understand. The future father in law couldn't drink it either haha.

Was just reading the most recent Whiskey Wash installment, apparently MGP out of S. Indiana who's well known as THE SOURCE for many craft distillers who're waiting for their bourbons / rye to age in their warehouse's is launching one of their own. It doesn't sound terrible...

From the article:

"George Remus Bourbon is MGP’s new house label. George Remus was reportedly a Prohibition-era bootlegger, and the brand name was actually acquired from Queen City Whiskey Co., a Cincinnati distillery, last November."

What do you think of that offering Dan? My BIL brought a bottle down to Granada, Nic. when we last went and I thought it was outstanding.

It definitely has a bold flavor. At 115 proof it is bordering on being to bold for my palate but with that being said it has a place in the rotation. I think it is the same mash bill as the 2016 Birthday Bourbon but the few reviews I have seen rate the 1920 higher than the 2016 Birthday.

Last nights sampling was neat and next time around I will add a couple of drops of water to see how it responds.

I like it and it is probably one of Brown-Forman's better offerings.

Never tried the Birthday 2016 but sure enjoyed the Prohibition, enough that yes I too picked up a bottle for the cabinet. Will have to try adding a cpl drops of water when next sipping this one. Thnx for taking the time
