Few decent releases this month:

EC 18 and 23

Old Forester Birthday Bourbon (already out in some locations. Military check your class six)

BT Antique Collection

Four Roses Small Batch Limited Edition

On a side note, appears what I thought was a special or additional release of Weller 12 back in May in fact may be their only 2017 release. Last year their release was in Sept.

Noah's Mill

Nice value for aged bourbon, think it's 12 to 15 years. Slightly different flavor profile.
4223. Author: Burner02Date: Fri, 9/22/2017, 5:58AM EST
"Out of Willett’s sourced-bourbon brands, Noah’s Mill is a blistering 114.3 proof bourbon. When Willett originally released Noah’s Mill, it carried a 15-year age statement. But in these times of bourbon shortages, the age statement has dropped, and now people believe Noah’s Mill to be a blend of bourbon aged four to 20 years."

Worth having a bottle around, IMHO.

Neat

One ice cube

Dinner at Sarento's, on the top of the Ilikai Hotel, before they close down for good at the end of the month.

Now I get why it's so sought after.

Hello Kipp, safe travels brother on your way back.

Had an opportunity to finally try ETL @ the Moose manor Herf, Bluewater ( Jeff ) brought out what was left of a bottle he had on board his motor home and let my bride and I try it. Excellent bourbon!!!

Hell T we stood deep in a line in one of Louisville's Liquor Barn' for over 45 minutes....for this years release. Only to come away with an EMPTY ETL case box!!!! I guess next year I need to be there with a lawn chair 4 hours before they open....just for an opportunity to score some. Brick wall

Started a whisky trade with my buddy, I fill up my flask, he fills up his, swap and drink.

Sounds kinky but it's not. It's fun.

Been a hectic summer... things be slowing down a bit. Haven't had a cigar in like 60 days thanks to sinus bull **** butttt got to do some whiskey the other night:

Redemption Cask Strength 7yr Rye
Smooth Ambler Old Scout Cask Strength 8yr Rye
Willett Family Estate Cask Strength 9yr Rye
2015 or 2016 I've forgotten Thomas H Handy Rye
Kenucky Owl Rye
Whistlepig 15 yr Vermont estate something blah blah Rye (purchased at 40% and still not worth it compared to the rest of these suckers, only Kentucky Owl cost more).

All fantastic ryes, even the whistlepig. WP just not worth the money.

Jim Beam Black.

Has been my go to for about eight years. Now I see it's "the worlds most popular bourbon".

Time to switch to something else, being the contrarian that I am.

I absolutely get this mentality. If you haven't had it in a while, buy some Wild Turkey 101. It's a damn steal.

101 proof? Doesn't that run hot on the pallet?

Not as hot as you'd think. Seriously, worth a try. I'm a rocks guy, and it's about perfect for the money. But then, there are plenty of bourbons at twice the price that aren't as good.

That said, steer clear of the 81. It's awful.

Okay, I may give that a shot...... see what I did there?

If i don't like it, I can always send it to Bama.

It would be graciously accepted. There's a new bourbon being produced in South Alabama that I'm interested in trying. All ingredients sources in Escambia County. It hasn't made it to ABC stores this far north yet, I don't think. Dettling, I believe, is the name.

Will do. I'm curious as to what the effect the hot and humid climate will have versus that of KY.
