with my version of Mediterranean turkey burgers and garlic and dill pickled green beans.

Very refreshing. Not a big white wine guy but have greatly enjoyed many affordable versions from Alsace...as suggested by some old guy above ^^^

2019 Soban Estate Old Vines Red Zinfandel.

Really good $10.00 bottle if you like fruit forward Red Zinfandel. It has just enough acidity that it is not just a fruit bomb that is one dimensional.

2020 Ill Pogione rose.

A bit pricey for a rose $19.00, but consistently the very best rose produced based on my enjoyment level. Plus a unique experience in that it is a Brunello Sangiovese rose.

2019 La Pierre Morgon.

I think this is the very best of Beaujolais. Even though it is $32.00 I consider it a steal given it's quality.

2016 CS Cabernet Sauvignon. Great bottle for $14.00 if you like smooth and complex, though only medium in body.

I've been seeking medium in body cabs and especially pinot noir...what's CS stand for?

Pretty sure Charles Smith the producer. But it might be a play on words. It is called substance cabernet.

Got word today, the owners of Ledger David sold the vineyard….

Hadn’t gotten an email for allotment pickup for some time, guess I now know why. Damn it man my favorite vineyards closed (Ledger David and Serra). All I got left is Cricket Hill and that’s a long drive and limited hours….thanks a lot Obama.
1414. Author: deadeyedickDate: Wed, 10/27/2021, 4:39PM EST
No word on who bought the vineyard or what they are planning for the LD stock? Sometimes the new owner will sell the remaining stock at a discount unless it was not included in the sale. Was the winery not part of the sale?
1415. Author: ZRX1200Date: Wed, 10/27/2021, 8:35PM EST
I went down on my lunch, November is the final allotment t they’re releasing and the only thing they had on sale (red) was Malbec (not my favorite). They let me pick up early today, I’m going to take my daughter down there this weekend for a final tasting….there’s an old lady that does the meat and cheese plate that loves my daughter and always comes out to talk to her. Our new sales rep at work went to school with the gal who started the vineyard with her husband, they’re getting divorced. Sad stuff.

Nothing on close out sale at all. Yeah the new owners may do that, the old guy working today whom I’ve never seen before said they’re staying open until the wines gone. So I’m guessing this has been going on for some time as I’ve NEVER seen them out of Cab Franc or ESPECIALLY their Sangiovese…..that’s their #1 selling red. I think they’ve been thinning stock for some time.

Ledger David Super Tuscan and a meat and cheese plate while my daughter and I say goodbye to another one of “our spots”. The old lady wasn’t working today, she LOVED my daughter and doted over her every time we came in. The stuff is somber, I hate this.

Gonna have a glass of Orions Nebula next (another powerhouse red blend).
1417. Author: ZRX1200Date: Sat, 10/30/2021, 6:37PM EST
Oh the nose….damn I’m gonna miss this place…..Orion has more bass and treble with less midrange than the Super Tuscan. The finish reminds me of a mix of their Cab Franc and Sangiovese.

It's spelled Petite Petit and your daughter has good taste. One of our favorite cheap/everyday type wines.

I have enjoyed everything I have drank from Michael David. Very good wine for the price point. I also enjoy Alexander Brown bottlings in that price range.

I am required to have a bottle on stock at all times. That one and expensive Pinots have become her thing. She can’t stand a Cabernet Sauvignon.

We went out to Lodi once and went to Michael David. Very nice tasting room that can hold its own with Sonoma. They have some interesting wines that don’t make it to distribution.

Just don't ever let her try the Turley Petite or she will be ruined.

2019 Morisfarms Mandriolo Maremma Toscana

cool story, Spanish family that moved to Italy a million years ago, blah blah blah...

really nice, dry, Sangiovese like wine with (for me) a lot of cherry fruit.
Was great with a mock Italian dinner I made, Italian style spaghetti squash.
And only $11 at a local, who rang it in at $9.90 as a November special for "members".

Thinking I should go grab a sixer before this is gone.
