yep...see post # 33 ^

Seems both red and blue states are refusing to comply with the commission's request for data, with the Mississippi GOP SoS telling them "they can go jump in da Gulf".

This money wasting commission seeking to document/measure voter fraud is nothing more than a smoke-screen: it's really an effort to federalize voting suppression measures the GOP has passed in a bunch of states, many of which have been found un-Constitutional when challenged in court...

The commission is composed of those who have successfully passed voter suppression measures in their states, some of which have refused to comply with the request for data...what a cluster****

The aforementioned commission seems like a step toward a totalitarion country to me. For the data to be of any use they wouldn't they need to know how someone voted? They do not have a right to know how someone voted. I guess there could be a value to knowing if someone voted, but that still seems very intrusive to me.
204. Author: delta1Date: Mon, 7/3/2017, 2:09PM EST
...just learned that the state of Kansas, home state of the knucklehead AG that Trump appointed to head this commission, has refused to comply with the data request...it's against their state privacy laws to provide that data...unbelievable waste of time and money...drain the swamp needs to start at some point...

He also claimed mass voter fraud in Kansas, spent a lot of money going after it and found none

A Virginia college student was sentenced this week to 100 days incarceration for submitting fraudulent voter registration forms listing the names of dead people and other faulty information for a political organization connected to the Democratic Party.

Andrew J. Spieles, 21, was sentenced in federal court Tuesday for knowingly transferring false Virginia voter registration forms during the 2016 election, according to the Justice Department.

Spieles, a student at James Madison University, worked as a staffer for Harrisonburg Votes -- a group affiliated with the Democratic Party -- and was paid to register voters in the area during the weeks leading up to the 2016 election. Spieles’ job was to register as many voters as possible; he reported to Democratic campaign headquarters in Harrisonburg, Va., according to the DOJ.

After filling out a registration form, Spieles entered the voter information into a computer system used by the Virginia Democratic Party. Each week, someone would hand-deliver paper copies to the Registrar’s Office in Harrisonburg.

Last August, however, an employee from the Registrar’s Office contacted law enforcement after another worker recognized a registration form submitted in the name of the late father of a Virginia judge. The office then discovered multiple instances of falsified forms. Some were in the names of deceased individuals, and others had incorrect middle names, birth dates and Social Security numbers, according to the Justice Department.

Spieles admitted he prepared all 18 of the false voter registration forms by obtaining information from “walk sheets” given to him by the Virginia Democratic Party. Spieles said no one else participated in the crime.

Spieles' fraud was punishable by up to a year in prison and a $100,00 fine, but he reached a plea agreement with Assistant U.S. Attorney Jeb Terrien that limited his sentence to between 100 and 120 days behind bars, according to a EAGNews.org.

Before it gets moved....what defines the problem in your mind? I always assumed that the problem that would need to be corrected would involve illegal/false/ineligible votes. Are we talking about something else?

better yet, never mind...its more fun to argue on here when everyone has a different definition of 'the problem'....if we start getting specific, what's the point? .

I think the whole premises of the voter fraud thing is that just because you can’t find a unicorn doesn’t mean they don’t exist. And are a problem. Defrauding the voters. And stuff.

But not like the Russians…..

Then it was:

Then it was:

Now it's:

You have a convenient view Drafter

I heard millions of people not only committed voter fraud, but actually voted illegally and haven't been caught. It's a systematic thing to work against my guy

But at least the electoral college worked and protected us even though a few months earlier agent orange wanted it gone and thought it was stupid and stuff
217. Author: dstiegerDate: Thu, 8/10/2017, 12:47PM EST
Maybe then, the disconnect is in what is your/my definition of voter fraud?

And exactly what is the definition of the condition that you/I consider to be a problem that needs correcting on a national scale. Because, I think its entirely likely that nothing the guy did impacted actual VOTES. I still think the guy in the article above is a dumbazz and should do some time. But, I don't think that he constitutes or is representative of a big problem. Unless, those fraudulent registrations translate to fradulent votes somehow. Maybe there's some other 3rd or 4th order effects that I'm unaware of....maybe % numbers of 'registered' Dems (or Repubs) translates to some sort of appropriated funds disbursements...IDK....like that stupid $3 thing on my tax forms...is that somehow distributed in a ratio related to registered voter numbers?

I guess, to me, voter registration fraud isn't a problem if it is not related to vote fraud
218. Author: victor809Date: Thu, 8/10/2017, 12:49PM EST
Trump had a very specific claim. You are trying to say he is right by identifying a case of voter fraud which is in no way linked to his specific claim ... no one here has ever said there isn't fraud in the generic sense. I think some here have even posted articles in which republicans were committing fraud. You're claim that the goalposts are being moved just shows you don't know where they were in the first place.
219. Author: DrafterXDate: Thu, 8/10/2017, 12:50PM EST
wouldn't voter registration fraud also be conspiracy to commit voter fraud..?? otherwise what would be the point..?? Mellow

I've also been eligible to vote in as many as four states at once, since I didn't know I had to 'unregister' from prior home states when I moved around with the Navy....but I never voted more than once in any one election...imperfect system? perhaps....was I a fraudulent voter? i don't think so...but if I was, by someone else's definition, I certainly didn't fraudulently affect any election by so much as one vote
227. Author: victor809Date: Thu, 8/10/2017, 1:22PM EST

When I was working at Santa Ana College, during election years, there were many instances of Voter REGISTRATION Fraud...mostly people masquerading as Dems while trying to manipulate students into registering as Republicans. One time, a candidate for local office came on campus to confront a group of faux Dems and they got into a fight. There were several arrests. One sneaky registration worker was notorious, and had been charged several times in different cities in LA and Orange counties...

Anyone who does this sort of thing should be convicted and sentenced. like this kid...

Big difference between REGISTRATION fraud and VOTING fraud, tho...

yeah, back then I posted something about the many people in the Trump campaign and family who were registered in multiple locations, and several folks here discovered that they were as well.

so far I've only seen a report of one person caught and convicted for voting more than once, and she voted twice for Trump...though I'm sure there were a few others on both sides.

Never been more than a red herring.

The head of the Chicago Republican Party is claiming the city reported thousands more votes cast than voters in the 2016 election -- sparking a battle with Chicago officials who call the allegations overblown.

First reported by the Chicago City Wire, the Chicago GOP filed a Freedom of Information Act request with the Chicago Board of Elections in January for a list of voters who had cast ballots in November. According to the party, the board responded with a list of 1,101,178 individuals, though its website reflects 1,115,664 votes cast.

“There should be never be more votes than voters—every ballot cast should be recorded against a registered voter,” Chairman of the Chicago GOP Chris Cleveland told Fox News, explaining that after receiving the data, the party “immediately” contacted the board for “clarification.” “This is either massive fraud or massive incompetence, but we have no way of telling the difference because they won’t give us the data.”

The discrepancy totals more than 14,000, though Cleveland claims it could be as high as 16,000.

Cleveland told Fox News he filed a number of FOIA requests—the original in January, and “several follow ups” for updated numbers.

“They ignored them,” Cleveland said. “They have been stonewalling us for six months.”

Could be a local problem...could also be poor record keeping...possible that there may be fraud...officials say it's a matter of counting all the voting registration applications, which takes much longer than the vote counts....guess we'll find out...

But does it really matter...Hillary won Chicago by a HUGE number of votes, right???

...she got more that 80% of the votes, so the difference of 14K-16K more votes cast than registered voters is a trifle considering the more than a million votes there...she got more than 890,000 votes to Trump's 132,000... 16,000 doesn't close the gap.

Looking at this as a priority and ignoring the Russian involvement during the 2016 election is like being concerned about a pimple on your face when you've just contracted syphillis...

How's your new knee, BTW?
