Years ago when my father passed I had acquired his RUGER Mark ll Government Target pistol. I took it down to the sheriffs along with his death certificate and my info. They ran a background check on the handgun and on me, took down my info I signed the paper and the weapon was then registered in my name. Took all of about 15 minutes and 8 bucks I think, was less than 10.

The few times I have gotten pulled over and had the weapon on me they run the numbers and all the info comes up correct. I Never had no issues with it but that was years ago and in NC and SC. Who knows now.
