And the Raven, never flitting, still is sitting, still is sitting
On the pallid bust of Pallas just above my chamber door;
And his eyes have all the seeming of a demon’s that is dreaming,
And the lamp-light o’er him streaming throws his shadow on the floor;
And my soul from out that shadow that lies floating on the floor
Shall be lifted—nevermore!

Fun fact: Ravens have a long history of being best buddies with wolves!

The ravens act as air recon for the wolves, finding prey animals for them, then leading the wolves there. The wolves kill the prey, then the ravens join in the eating.

The ravens hang out with the wolf pack and socialize with them, even playing with them and their pups.

This is why you sometimes see Alaskan native totem poles featuring wolves and ravens together.

Bonus fun fact: Wolves go fishing! They wade into shallow streams, stare down at the water intently, then at the proper moment they pounce, grabbing a fish in their jaws, then trot over to shore and eat it.

Wolf researchers heard the natives talking about this, and thought they were making it up... until someone filmed it and proved it! If you search YouTube for "wolves fishing" some videos should come up
.
