I made some burgers last night, on the grill. Tried something new with them: I finely chopped up a bunch of hickory bacon pieces and mixed in the ground chuck before I seasoned and formed the patties.

OH MY GOD.

Can't describe how amazing these were. Topped it off with barbecue sauce , onion rings and cheese on the burger. Brioche bun.

Try it.

Mixing some beef & pork together to grill some burgers with melted blue cheese. Will be grilling them shortly with some vegetables.

I've done that with the bacon/hamburger before, but also mix in a little beer for added juiciness and flavor. And I half cook the bacon before I chop it up because I'm paranoid

Italian yes, those olives have a buttery flavor that works great in the burger.

Pizza used to be my favorite until I cut most bread out my diet.

2 years later I still Jones for pizza occasionally.
17. Author: frankj1Date: Thu, 5/23/2019, 10:54AM EST
certainly not the same, but with all the so-so and worse pizza available, I find a home made cauliflower crust pizza easy to make, better for me, and better than most from shops...and way better than frozen sodium bomb crap pizza.

Since I'm in Chicagoland I'm surrounded by nothing but the good stuff when it comes to pizza. It's a blessing and a curse. Drool

also grilled up some burgers last night: used Angus beef , swiss cheese and mushrooms, bacon and avacado, grilled onion, tomato, lettuce and raw onion...almost too thick to bite, but I somehow managed...corn on the cob and air fried french fries on the side...

wife, daughter and SIL thoroughly enjoyed the burgers, but did not put as many toppings on theirs...

Air fried mushrooms = delish
Air fried Zuchini = delish
Air fried tater tots - yep good stuff too.

We got an air fryer for christmas too. Don't use it a whole lot to be honest, but its kind of neat. (MIL actually got us one of those counter top pizza cooker things, and we returned it and got an air fryer. We would never have used the pizza thing)

Grill currently out of commission. Was cooking some Brats on Sunday and the Akorn lid just fell off. Get what you pay for I guess(I've actually had really good luck with it, but that was was certainly disappointing)

Thinking of going to a pellet machine next.

I did like a panko/grated parm breading. Spray with some olive oil, dip and fry.

I also took some snap peas sprayed those with the olive oil and just put directly into the fryer with no breading. Tender crisp "stir fried" taste, with all of those healthy benefits.
