Armed Antifa nut job lobs Molotov cocktail
1. Author: ZRX1200Date: Sun, 7/14/2019, 1:59AM EST
At a Tacoma Washington ICE facility, burned a car down....

And got his ass shot dead.

Most reports won’t use the word Antifa even though friends described him as such, and that he was probably intending to commit suicide by cop.

Antifa folks are calling him a martyr

Cynical speculation at best.

But you might as well keep up your MO and state it as if it were fact.

here's a direct quote from that article:

"And in early 2018, federal investigators found a raft of disturbing and racist text messages sent by Border Patrol agents in southern Arizona after searching the phone of Matthew Bowen, an agent charged with running down a Guatemalan migrant with a Ford F-150 pickup truck. The texts, which were revealed in a court filing in federal court in Tucson, described migrants as “guats,” “wild ass ****bags,” “beaners” and “subhuman.” The messages included repeated discussions about burning the migrants up."

The self-proclaimed Antifa militant who was killed Saturday by Washington state police as he attacked a local Immigration and Customs Enforcement detention center was seen in a recent CNN program that critics say glorified a radical, left-wing movement.

Willem Van Spronsen, 69, sent a manifesto to friends the day before the assault in which he wrote, "I am Antifa," and now he is lionized by members of the leftwing group as a "martyr."

He also appears to have been part of a May 5 episode of CNN’s “United Shades of America” with W. Kamau Bell.

The heavily promoted CNN show featured Bell explaining the “Redneck Revolt,” which he identified as gun-toting liberals who defend the Second Amendment and seek to battle the “alt-right” and neo-Nazis.

Bell called them “good guys,” going to a gun range with members and even questioning why “more white people” don’t share their viewpoints.

One of the men featured on the CNN special appears to be Van Spronsen -- who was armed with a rifle and incendiary devices when he launched his assault on the Northwest Detention Center in Tacoma around 4 a.m. Saturday, according to the Tacoma Police Department.

Employees reported Van Spronsen was throwing 'incendiary devices' and setting vehicles on fire and the first officers on the scene said he was carrying flares. He allegedly was trying to ignite a propane tank when he was confronted by the officers, who opened fire. The Pierce County Medical Examiner’s office said he died of multiple gunshot wounds.

CNN did not immediately respond to a request for comment and a request to confirm that Van Spronsen was featured on the network.

That group was actually like 10,000 members.... There's about 20,000 border patrol officers...
so... maybe not a small fringe extremist group?

10,000 is a lot.

Please strike "small" from the description.

Thank you.

One could argue not "fringe" or "extremist" if it's membership is 50% of the border patrol employees.

Now I don't know what the breakdown of border patrol officers to "friends and family" was... so maybe it's only 25% or something.... but I have trouble seeing it as fringe.

(I'd be more likely to call it "small" since I don't think of 10k as a large number of people for the population of the country)... but that small number of people had an inordinate, and not fringe presence within a government agency. I believe the head of the agency was found to be part of the group.

This is a fun conversation and all, but we both know that Delta was being more generic in his original comment. I'm just bustin him on it. So we can stop the Clavinesque dissection.

I've heard nurses in burn unites call their patients crispy critters. My understanding is that comments such as that are due to stress. Perhaps border patrol officers do much the same. I really don't know, but talk is exactly that, talk.

I think that kind of talk helps desensitize the situation so that they can cope and do their jobs effectively. Perhaps a bit of the same here
44. Author: teedubbyaDate: Tue, 7/16/2019, 6:10AM EST
Or it could be more like what happened in the prisons in Iraq and the prisoners/immigrants are the enemy..

I like to think in most cases nurses are trying to help patients and gallows humor is a common coping mechanism. Maybe you are right and these folks emphasize and want to do good for the immigrants..,,, or they may despise them and are just being honest.

I respect the need to see the good. It’s possible it’s not there and your eyes are really seeing what they are seeing.

Drafter I’ve been talking to folks working the camps. I wish you could or would. I believe your attitude would change.

One of my close friends started crying when telling me about the things she saw. She primarily worked with the kids. My other buddy worked more with the adults.

You can be anti immigration and still be appalled at how we are neglecting our responsibilities once someone is in custody.
