If you want to know what the open minded LGBQT community thinks of straights read the article below. The comment that caught my attention stated that this "Straight Pride Parade was perverted".SMMFH
I can't say what I really think here but I will say this...………...the LGBQT community is some of the biggest bigots on the planet. Why is it not enough to just be accepted as a human being based on your own merits?
Why is it so important to these people to shove their lifestyle down our throats?
If the LGBQT community really wants my support...........knock off the stupid schit and just enjoy life as you are.I can assure you if you show up in my neighborhood riding your rainbow stick pony in azzless chaps screaming I'm here and I'm queer........the things I will say to you are going to leave you butthurt.Show up acting like a normal citizen and keep your **** ing lifestyle to yourself and we'll get along just fine.

By far, the majority of the lgbtqrsuv communities is exactly as you want them to be... Most of them are just like you and I - far too busy with life to worry about activism or to worry about what others perceive them to be... But then there's this group of folks... They didn't get hugged enough when they were kids and they're closest friends are cats that are indifferent to their existence and their aspirations for a meaningful career have fizzled at the realization that they aren't particularly smart or good at anything... So they form marches and parades and feign outrage at the slightest opposition to the cause which has now become their everything because they have literally nothing else... That's both sides... And surprisingly, a lot more hetero's responsible for these gay pride displays and a lot more homo's responsible for the straight ones than one might expect.... For crying out loud, the grand Marshall of the straight pride thingy was Milo, literally one of the gayest men alive... |

Seems relatively accurate Opel. As long as either parade hurts no one, then why not let them have their parades? Ron does have a valid point regarding the hypocrisy, but we aren't in Russia as an example, freedom of speech and expression are principles the United States was founded upon and we still value today. The only way LGBTQ outrage matters is if people let it matter. For that matter the only way xenophobic outrage matters is if people let it matter. If people don't let others words matter then they don't. An ideology I once followed and need to follow again. The hard part with that is knowing when a white supremicist is just that, and when they are Hitler. Perhaps it is time to stop raging and expressing it here. Anyhow, sometimes I had fun here. |

Straight pride parade is a stupid concept.
Gay pride parade has become a showcase to prove Ron's point.
Organizers of both should be ashamed. |

I suppose my biggest question is why LGBQT people need public acceptance???Their methods for attempting acceptance leave a lot to be desired.
My inner psychologist screams mental instability and low self esteem. If these people cannot accept and love themselves as they are how do they expect us too?
I have a very good friend from Idaho that's gay.Unless he,I or one of his close inner circle told you you'd never guess he is gay.Dude spends a month in the mountains of Idaho every year roughing it for elk.Anyway my point is his views on these people are way more harsh than mine.....He believes these LGBQT morons make his life more difficult and if they just left the issue alone it would evolve more rapidly on its own.The difference in my friend here and the activist of LGBTQ is Eric accepts himself and loves himself as is making it easy for his friends to love him as well.BTW his nickname for me is Carpet Muncher...….my nickname for him is Pole Vault. Now that's a loving friendship right there.LOL |

Morons, and the look at me I'm special always make life more difficult for normal people. Do we really need protected classes of people? I thought we were all people and if existing laws were enforced we would be fine. The concept of hate crimes is just the creation of a loop hole around double jeopardy. |

so anyone who, for whatever reason, acts flamboyant/theatrical in public should be compelled to stop? Because it's not how the majority is genetically wired?
that will kill the tourist biz in Provincetown! HA!
If you've never been there, you wouldn't believe how much fun it is, banter hurled back and forth but all is in the spirit of entertainment. Don't recall any viewers hurling rocks, wielding bats, or shooting the locals. It's like stepping into a musical comedy right on stage.
Never been but have heard Key West has some similar antics happening.
I just figure live and let live, if truly accepted rather than simply tolerated only when behavior is considered acceptable (kept in the closet?), there'd be no need for "Pride Marches" of any kind.
I think both parades are stupid, partly because neither side should feel uncomfortable being who they are.

I am 98.2% certain that this is true for some. Maybe most, maybe not. But wouldn't it be just as possible that perhaps an equal percentage of those offended and/or outright enraged are equally unsettled by who they might really be? |
