he's the CBid brother who is famous for organizing the Morro Bay Fishnherf I and II, is a thoughtful and generous host who made both events fun for all, who makes extravagantly delicious cheesecakes, expertly makes rock-fish jigs that he generously passed out, who knows a lot about weed, growing tomatoes and other garden veggies, is great with his kids, and whose wife makes a variety of tasty salsas...

he's the kinda guy you want as a neighbor when the Big One destroys your town...

Happy Birthday, Opelmanta/Joel

Happy Birthday, my friend.

21. Author: opelmanta1900Date: Thu, 9/19/2019, 7:35PM EST
Thank you all for the birthday wishes, and especially you Al, for the kind words...

Wife took the day off work, we took the kids to school, then headed off to the sierras... Got to about 8000 ft and got stuck behind a slow moving truck - a truck full of trout!

It was the forest departments stocking truck... at the last minute he went to wishon reservoir and we went to courtright, but still a good omen...

It's 83 here in the valley... I checked the weather before we left, and although it mentioned cold weather up there, the report neglected to mention the rain, hail, snow, and 30 mph winds we would encounter...

No worries, wife toughed it out, caught her first and second trout of her life, I caught 6 or 7 off various lures and baits... It was an amazing birthday...

Now it's cake time...

Thanks again all!

Nope.

Thirsty, hungry, sleepy... in that order, too. It stands to reason all potheads should be fat.

I've wondered myself... I smoke too many cigars and drink way too many red bulls and have far too powerful a sweet tooth... Was at the dr this morning... BP after a cigar and red bull was 96/61... And I'm down a couple more pounds to 151...

Here's what i know: I rarely eat breakfast... I skip lunch about 25% of the time and have 2 dinners instead...

About another 25% of the time I snack in lieu of lunch... Couple pieces of salami, Hawaiian roll, granola bar, spinach and strawberry smoothie, something like that...

When I do eat lunch, it's simple... Nothing greasy, nothing before noon, nothing with sauce...

Mayo is a huge no no as are sugar replacements of any kind... Saccharin, sucrose, sucralose, aspartame, stevia, etc...

I never clean my plate... Never have... When I was a kid and adults would pull the whole "starving kids in Africa would kill for that food" thing I'd hand them my plate and ask how much postage they needed...

I'm sure it's as simple as calories in calories out, but ultimately I eat whatever I want, just not a lot of it.... And I stand most of the day...

Opel's physiology seems to be backwards from most....dude gets energized by the thc....I (and most people I knew) just got incredibly lazy

the good news is that when you decide to have your eating make sense, you already know more than enough to do it well.
It's in you.

I always knew you were a man of taste and distinction. In other words, a fellow Virgo. Happy birthday. Sounds like you must have either reached an age that ends in a zero and/or live a more interesting life than I do. So, you over or under fiddy?

Wait, saw your later post. That'd make you...38. Whippersnapper!
