well...I'm probably stepping in where I don't belong, especially since I'm not in this year's Secret Santa nor have I been in the past . But I just want to say something.
I've been accepted here from day one, and I am not often in the majority. One reason I don't join this yearly event is simply because I am not a follower of any Christian denomination. But I love everyone who is and derive great pleasure from reading these Santa threads. It makes me feel wonderful to see how my friends here are so caught up in the spirit and lessons that define this Christmas thing you all have...a vicarious joy that comes from the way you all do it. This thread epitomizes the amazing generosity that is unique to our cbid community.
So I just want to say I am saddened to see the shunning of a member. And in a Christmas special no less!
Not everyone is universally liked, it's not realistic. But I've always thought there are certain special times when people put aside their differences in the spirit of these times. For some reason I thought Christmas was one of those special times with special meaning and lessons by which to live...
I'm having second thoughts about posting this, but it really saddened me and I don't even have a relationship with this individual.
Feel free to tell me to myob, or use even stronger language and I will completely understand. I really will understand. I'm rereading it and it truly sounds holier-than-thou. But I decided to not delete.
And I'll follow along silently in any event, it's one of my favorite rites of passage here...but I didn't want to hold that in in case others felt uneasy too.
Sorry, in a way. |

After the scheetbirds who have joined and left BOTL hanging on the SS trades it’s ESPECIALLY important to filter problems. Other BOTL (who BTW chose to be left UNNAMED in some instances) stepped up to fill in where guys were left hanging, now THAT is the seasonal spirit.
From personal experience this can get spendy in some instances when you’re lucky enough to draw a name you were REALLY hoping for. I never got burned in this but participated in a couple that had a leech. I know not everyone reads between the lines but some things have been posted subtly that haven’t been caught by some questioning this decision.
Corey took up the mantle and it’s his football to screw, so buy a ticket for the ride or STFU I say.
Maybe we can get ThrillaGorilla to post some of the BS he had to deal with in his years running it......Jason took for granted what BOTL meant because he is close with some of the finest dudes there are to know. |

Like Ron said earlier, you sure can make stuff up on the fly. Your “spinning” is top-notch. Kudos to you for deflecting and “saving” your site / SS run. The 32 participants should be alerted to the fact that you saved them by warding off my destroying and tainting potential...why don’t you send them here and show them what you did? Heroines aren’t born everyday you know.... With that being said, no need to post pics. They wouldn’t prove anything...you know, kinda like doing a spelling bee. Without access to your purported site, anyone can post pictures of cigars, liquor and swag and call them “damages” from their SS. If you haven’t figured it out by now, you have very little or no credibility any longer so anything you claim would be met with great dubiousness. |

Can’t tell if you are stating that those games are being played or what. If you are trying to get someone to take the teams on the right hand side there should be spreads. If you are thinking that those should be straight up, you are out of your mind.
Additionally, I would like to finish up our dealings with each other this weekend. We can make a wager and if I win you send the ten, we make a wager and you win (then we are even) or if no wager, I would like you to send the 5er you owe me.
After this, I don’t really feel like doing any trading, wagering, et all with you. Please do not “accept” a wager, PIB, etc in which you might have to pick me up.
Much appreciated, Thanks, David Cigarlady7 wrote:David,
These were not games posted for you... But for the entire thread. There are a couple others on here betting, if you didn't notice. They are just the games for week 8 I posted.. and as you can see I did not choose a team or add the points.

As to your not participating, you do realize that "Yule" and "Winter Solistice" festival/feasts way pre-date Christianity and were co-opted by the churchs to placate the pagans? So, I would say that there are no really valid religious barriers to this one for ya. It pre-dates us all, and is about spirit and hope for the future. I'd say you've got that in spades buddy. |

That and not ever taking responsibility for chit. It’s one of my pet peeves and when she constantly placed blame on others or simply blew off the facts, it just reached a zenith (...or nadir, depending on which way you look at it...) in this thread. I know one thing, the sooner she leaves, the happier the site will be...but I truly doubt that she’ll leave peaceably, she’s such a pill that she’ll linger for a bit and make things miserable for many of us. However, I've met the Mad Hawaiian. While mad/angry is hard to envision, his hits would indicate a case could be made for mad/insane. Regardless, I guarantee his presence would be a boon to any gathering of B/SOTLs be they on line or real life.
