Special Christmas smoke?
1. Author: stinger88Date: Tue, 12/24/2019, 9:13PM EST
What do you plan on smoking for Christmas? A “saving it for a special occasion” cigar?
2. Author: PalamaDate: Tue, 12/24/2019, 9:16PM EST
I think we're gonna be so busy tomorrow that my Christmas smoke will be tonight. With that being said, planning on ashing up a CH Las Calaveras LC46 2019 in memory of those that aren't here anymore to celebrate with us.

I might break out one of my OpusX's. Herfing

Dunno yet....

Undecided. Probably won't get to smoke tomorrow but need to choose something worthwhile for the day after.

Well, I found my oldest biggest cigar and dug it out. I've had that baby forever. Picked it up in Springfield, IL on a road trip.

1970 maybe? It still has the band with the picture of Lincoln on it even. I'll bet that thing is amazing now!

If not that one, I'm not sure. Probably one of the CC's that DED sent me awhile back and I've been hording. Or maybe one of the Siglo2's I got in the box split from CB.

Lincoln does look good, but may be a collectible by now though. We'll see. BigGrin

I might not get the chance tomorrow either but I sure will try. Weather is supposed to be right around 70. I think either a nice aged cc or Opus X would do nicely.

That sounds like a good idea. I still have a box of 15's.

"To the lost!" -- Favored toast line of Jimmy Darmody, character on Boardwalk Empire (HBO)

I forgot most of the show, but that toast stuck with me. Simple, respectful, solemn.

Hell, maybe they can hear it, wherever they are.

Maybe some X-Mas blend McLelland 09’ from a BOTL from Texas or a cigar to be determined.

We got back from Christmas with the grand-kids, and I decided to let the Lincoln souvenir cigar rest a bit longer. So I opted for the Cohiba Siglo II. It was the right choice. Accompanied with a glass of Blantons, it was a very very nice break in the day.

While I was partaking, my wife brought me my present from her. I flat out love this.

I took that Cohiba all the way down to the nub. Man was that a good smoke.

I hope all you pirates are having a great day as well.

Merry Christmas! (This was the Tat from yesterday, but hey!)

Is that an Ashton-Xikar cigar locker in this pic? If so you know the foam that holds the XO cutter is supposed to come out. Once you take it out there is a padded tray you can use for lighters and cutters or whatever. I only mention this b/c I got one of these for my brother and a month or 2 later I was at his place and he had not taken the foam out either. He had no clue there was a usable padded tray under there lol.

Yup, it's just a foam insert with a hole the shape of the XO cutter. Remove the foam insert, and there are three areas lined with a special kind of foam that, once the lid is locked on, holds conventionally-shaped lighters or cutters in place no matter how you rotate the locker. Take it somewhere, remove the lid, and your three lighters/cutters are in the same orientation you placed them in, nicely centered on the foam pad.

What a crazy deal that package was though. The locker is $50+ and the XO is usually $70+. The combo was (maybe still is?) bottoming out at about $30 on Freefall. Lifetime warranty too. Crazy cheap. Want one? Search the Freefall auctions and see if they're still doing it. Both the CigarLocker and the XO are excellent items I recommend.

Well, yeah. I knew that was a foam tray, but my wife cut the foam to hold my draw poker so I left it. I may give that a shot. Then hope she doesn't notice. BigGrin

I also had an OpusX BelicosoXXX, and shared one with my son... SIL and nephew turned theirs down, so I gave them to my son to give to his co-workers who are new to the leaf...

good times and great cigar...
