Hopefully, we can talk after I see what MY refund looks like . . . presuming I GET a refund, that is.

I've got something for you John! Fresh made corned beef, fresh rye bread, Jewish pickles. All the sides you can imagine! Might even order cigars from Israel just to keep with the theme;-)

brought home some stuff from a great vegetarian restaurant tonight.
they have figured out how to bring some fantastic flavors and heat.

got some of their wonderful lentil soup.
a (very large) app of gobi manchurian (kinda like buffalo cauliflower)...addictive.
a golden beet and goat cheese salad.
and Thai red curry with veggies and tofu.

laugh all ya want, but this dinner had more layers of flavor built in than 98.2% of what America ate tonight.

I LOVE lentil soup!
I'm not a huge soup guy, I prefer stews or chowders. But, a good Lentil soup or split pea soup will get me every time!
Then of course there Matzo ball soup which I'm not a huge fan of but my kids love.... my son will pass up a perfectly cooked rare filet for 3 or 4 bowls of matzo soup. I dunno where I went wrong but I blame his grandmom.

Then there is the secret weapon. If it's winter and the kids are sick I can make tomato and basil soup with grilled cheese sandwiches and they will eat that for days.

I'll never go vegetarian but in the past 15 years or so vegetarian food has gotten really good.

I'm so making that! Never thought to puree a bit of it to make it more creamy but leave just enough to give it some bite! I like that guy's video's and how he describes the process. All business and not a lot of useless chatter.

I'm going to try it with the yogurt first then try the Feta version. I love Feta! Thanks!

You are absolutely welcome. Chef John is the new Alton Brown. I love his videos. He has a blog, foodwishes.com with amazing stuff, and allrecipes.com bought his stuff. I love his youtube videos.
