I summarized (in part) the theory as formulated by them. It’s not my opinion or speculation, it’s what they believe.

Critical Theory is an academic discipline in humanities departments. It’s clearly and unequivocally spelled out in numerous books and academic journals. Research it yourself.

It’s very telling how rarely anyone is willing to debate the validity of critical theory and resort to attacking the credibility of the messenger.

You can blame the humanities departments of universities all over the country for that. 98.2% of all their publishing is opinion based. The humanities departments are why kids today are acting the way they are. It all started there. I've seen "research" papers published and turned into books that had sample sizes of 12 people. The humanities have been overrun by the extreme left. Critical Theory is Marxism on steroids. There are numerous books and academic journals all over the world that promote Communism too. That doesn't make them valid. There are so many anonymous stories of humanities professors afraid to speak out about the current state of the humanities dept's it sickening. Don't tow the party line and you're out. The humanities were supposed to teach people how to think, not what to think.

Just to clarify... I identify as a liberal. Today's liberals would call me right wing.

My kids teacher sent over a "Contract" with the rules of the classroom and expects all the parents and kids to sign it.

Told my wife, I ain't signing that sh*t, and don't you sign it either.

Have her ancestors rolling in their graves over signing another bad contract.

The "Contract" says the rules of the class room in the most direct of fashions...

But the "Contract" doesn't stipulate what happens in the event of a dispute, doesn't specify jurisdiction, act of god exceptions or any of that.

I might just be being a d*ck, but I think I would be doing my kid a disservice if I let her think it's ok to go sign arbitrary, binding, one sided legal documents

If it's anything like some of the thing's that I've seen from the educators around my area, it's more of a notification that this is the way it's going to be. Sign the dotted line to confirm that you read it. I don't think that the teachers see it as a something that is up for negotiation.

If it makes you feel better, they'll feed you the "we understand and it's a trying time for everybody, we don't like it anymore than you do" story.
206. Author: bgzDate: Thu, 8/13/2020, 1:51PM EST
Well, she'll have to present it as such instead of presenting a contract.

Contract implies there is mutual benefit... there is not. She is offering nothing.

All it serves as is a tool of power to controll the kids with, and to wave at the parents if their kid misbehaves.

Anyway, it is not mandatory, what she going to do, kick my kid out of school?

If you haven't figured it out already, Joe Biden's true religion is the worship of the progressive state and obedience to its doctrines above all else.

Progressivism is a religion, actually a cult, a collectivist culture and as Joe exemplifies it is a religion whose doctrine trumps all others, even his own Christianity. You see devotes among atheists and agnostics as well as anyone else.
There is no room for individual choice, no room for moral codes other than what's PC, no room for questioning or rejecting progressive dogma. The priests of the church and their acolytes in the media will tell you the right way to think, and the right things to say. It is a cult that demands conformity and obedience or you'll be cast out. If they can't convince you with rhetoric, they'll try to force it down your throat by legal means and legislation, the absolute perversion of what law should do.
Go ahead, prove me wrong.

I get it, you're worried your right to sh*t on other peoples' rights might be in danger...

when Trump took office the economy was rolling along at +2.5% GDP for several years...unemployment numbers had been dropping for years...America was recognized as the dominant leader of the free world, and enjoyed partnerships with every advanced democratic industrialized nation...Russia, Iran, North Korea were stifled by sanctions...China was not yet a real threat to exceed the US in economic influence world-wide

OK, I give you Joe Biden as proof again that Progressivism is a cult.
I saw this campaign commercial yesterday with Joe speaking (he speaks clearly enough as long as he takes his meds)
https://youtu.be/GY5w_p5dc7k
Joe is calling for a national plan to save lives from the Corona Virus with "unified nationwide standards". It's all a top down plan of course, progressives love centralized government dictates. Maybe Joe has a Soviet style 5 year plan to contain the virus, after all a good progressive plan should never let a good crisis go to waste. As Ludwig Von Mises wrote, "Most of the tyrants, despots, and dictators are sincerely convinced that their rule is beneficial for the people, that theirs is government for the people." Maybe Joe actually believes his own BS, I don't know, or maybe he's just mouth breathing what he was told to say.
He tops it off with the "we are all in this together" spiel as to make soft minds believe they are on a noble crusade into battle with their great general leading the charge. It's actually more like herds of lemmings committing mass suicide by jumping off a cliff.
Part of that plan is mandatory "national mask mandates". "Everyone needs to wear a mask in public" says ye wannabe dictator. Progressives love the words "national" and "mandates", it signifies absolute power and subservience of the individual to the state. I'm sure all good progressives are ready to goosestep to those decrees.

You guys probably believe in increasing taxes on cigars because "it's for the children".

Now its Progressiveness freed the slaves. LOL! Yes, women got the vote but progressiveness worked to deny the freed slaves the right to vote or put so many obstacles in their way to make them give up.

As Jim Ostrowski wrote:
"Progressivism is the widely held belief that positive state action, that is, force, can improve society. There wasn’t a clear notion of this concept so I wrote a book about it. As I explain in, progressivism is a not a rational or logical system of thought but a form of self-help therapy that makes the progressive feel better by providing a magical solution to all of the life’s problems: state action. The problem is that it doesn’t work and makes matters worse. However, since progressivism wasn’t conceived as a rational ideology in the first place, its failure doesn’t faze the progressive. Instead, they cling to its therapeutic value by inventing scapegoats for the problems caused by state action. They also construe any problem as an instance where not enough state action was used. Hence, the endless calls for more spending to rescue a long series of failed progressive programs such as the drug war, government schools or the interventions into."

Now lets move on to more current meltdown events and the legacy of Progressivism.
