it's the camaraderie disguised as hatred served with bellicosity...
could also be dementia driven by boredom combined with a life so barren, without meaningful human contact and bereft of excitement that results in us fantasizing about the magical aura here...

I don't think I hit the ground posting for a while. In fact, I didn't even click on Forums for awhile, was just in a bidding frenzy in the early days. You helped guide me once I jumped into the madness. You were among the first 3 to PM me after I came out with both guns blazing...you, another Florida guy topper (MIA, I think he had the Black Spy guy as his pic thingy), and tailgater. So I joined a few months before you but you quickly became a mentor, a supporter, and a good friend as time went on. |

and as for you, William...gonna tell on you now. The Lovely Caren and I turned a weekend wedding in San Diego into a five day vacation. Get back to our hotel after the wedding reception and find a bottle of champagne on ice in our room. From DrafterX. I'm not sure I ever found out what X went through to find out where we were staying, but it was amazing. Same trip, MACS drives down to SD Bay and takes us and another couple we were with on a four hour private boat tour! Caren was totally struck with a sense of pride in our Navy and the lengths taken to protect us, thanks to Shawn. And then the jackwagon slaps a dozen fine Coobans on me even though we had negotiated a "no shenanigans" pact. That's just two examples of how I've been treated here, there are dozens of others. Not to mention the incredible support I got in the darkest days imaginable. Magic happens here, I tell ya. I can't quit now. |
