I don't give a fug really. I don't have a dog in that fight. I ain't flown anywhere in years.
All I know is they are a publically traded company and if they don't feel they are in a position to safely provide a service to customers because of situations beyond their control, bad luck, or mistakes of their own making, they have a right and a moral obligation to not needlessly risk the lives of their customers and employees.

Screw the useless POS bureaucrat!

More fake news from Robert and irrelevant.

I can predict what kind of genius idea Commissar Mayor Pete has in mind, he will want to fine them a gazillion dollars, the costs of which will be passed down to the hapless proles, and the fines will go to doing no good.

I miss all the fun.

In the meantime, there's a giant increase in sick people around here. Large holiday gatherings and people with lowered immunity due to 18 months masking/distancing has resulted in crowded hospitals and supply issues with meds.
Covid. Flue. RSV.

But the only one people worry about is the Covid, because we've been told by the government and the media to fear it above all else.

If I get the flu I stay home until I feel better.
If I test and confirm Covid, I am told to stay home even if I don't feel sick. Then after 5 days I can go back to work but have to wear a mask for another 5.
Thanks CDC.

This has worked for me over the past year.

It's funny.
I can be coughing up a storm and hacking up a lung, but if I don't have Covid people wish me well and figure I'll be back at work once the coughing stops.
If I test positive for Covid, they want me home even if I'm not coughing at all.

Science.

it's been over two weeks since this has been open for voting in this clearly (more than) right of center community.

Only two (7%) regret getting jabbed.

Ten (38%) "weren't fooled".

Fourteen (53%) got the shot and have no regrets.

This is a very conservative group, that has been polled.

One thing I like about hanging out here all these years as a libturd is that I get to quiet the voices of the obvious choice for "my side" and am forced to consider the opinions of the other half (or so) of America. I like to find out what I may have missed due to an allegiance to an auto-response mind set. I tell myself that my preferred side can't always be right, but how would I know without considering dissenters?

So this poll is making me think that those radically opposed to the subject may want to calm down and re-evaluate what others think...with respect for them...based on the voting alone.

It isn't a matter of deciding A or B (getting the jab or not).
It's a matter of mandates and exclusions based on an unproven vaccine.

Group A might be happy getting the jab.
Group B is giddy about refusing it.
But Group C is ready to fire people who don't get it. Ready to ban them from participating in events.

I've read on these pages how they justify their oppression by making claims about the vaccine that we know are not true. It doesn't prevent you from getting the virus. It doesn't reduce your ability to spread it. In fact, one could argue that if your symptoms are indeed lessened then you are MORE likely to be out in society spreading it without even knowing you've got it.

Groups A and B can live happily together.
Group C are horrendous human beings with dangerously flawed logic.

I think at the center of this issues is “who do you trust”.

I am not qualified to know if the vaccine is adequately tested or speak to it effectiveness.
I don’t believe anyone here is qualified either.

So, if we trust the FDA, CDC, our own GP and even (god help us) the Surgeon General, than we would conclude that vaccines are proven and needed.
If we don’t trust these guys, than the vaccines are unproven - at least as far as we are concerned.

We face this all the time where we need to rely on experts to tell us things; from auto mechanics to dentists.

I don’t see enough evidence to distrust these groups and chose to rely upon them.

I am fully vaccinated, but have not signed up for any booster.
I took the jab knowing it was approved only under an EUA. We were in the midst of a pandemic and I am not young enough to be in the "safe" demographic.

Then America became barbaric.
We demonized anyone who didn't want to get the vaccine. Regardless of reason.

We fired people in first responder roles.
People who were lauded as heroes just 6 months earlier. Heroes who put their life on the line during an unknown viral pandemic were now being fired because they chose to not get an experimental shot.
And that wasn't enough.
We made it illegal to attend events without a vaccine. Even though getting a vaccine does not limit your ability to spread the virus.

The FDA is innocent here. They waited to formally approve the vaccine.
The CDC is guilty of playing politics.

It's accurate to say the vaccine is safe. But that isn't enough to mandate it. Treat it like a flu shot and let people get it if they want. Nothing is without risk.
Forcing it is pure politics and dangerous and inhumane.

I don't believe that. Pulmonary embolisms, myocarditis, blood clots, female issues, and young people dropping dead of "heart issues" due to extreme cold or extreme heat?

Time is not going to be kind to this shot. I just hope it doesn't kill people I care about that took it.

There really aren't any significant numbers of what you fear. For me, as I first said what seems like eons ago, it's not the deaths so much after the first more deadly strain of the virus, but the loooong covid that continues to expand. That's what will be the issue we will most regret.

Sounds like we need a vaccine that will provide immunity to Covid so we can stop looong Covid.
174. Author: BuckyB93Date: Sun, 1/1/2023, 3:40PM EST
I think we need to redefine the word immunity.

Rather than using the current definition that has been used for generations of...

"the state or quality of being resistant to a particular infectious disease or pathogen"

maybe we change it to something like "maybe kinda sorta resistant to a particular infectious disease or pathogen but your mileage may vary and this definition is transitory and can be redefined to suit the needs of the power that be."

If we can change the definition of a vaccine to suit our needs, I see no reason why we can't change the definition of immunity too.

Where does the loooong Covid begin, versus the long term issues associated with the vaccines?

There is literally no way to separate the two.

Except people will. Based on preconceptions.
Like telling us an untested vaccine will prevent Covid. And then telling us it was only ever intended to make the symptoms less.
Or telling us that being vaccinated prevents the spread of the virus. Only to learn that it literally doesn't.
Man, 2020 and 2021 were a looooong two weeks.

I'm not against the vaccine. I'm against vaccine propaganda.
If your doctor recommends it, by all means get the bi-monthly jab in an effort to chase the virus.
nevermind that each booster we get has thus far only fought the previous strain. Yet each time they ask us to trust them that THIS TIME it will fight the newest or even the next.

Oh. And please don't jab the children.
How misguided are we to inject an experiment with zero long term testing into the demographic who are overwhelmingly safe?
We already screwed up our kids under 6 with the masking and the social distancing.
Frank, you know my wife is a preschool director. We can call her observations anecdotal, but it's a frequently visited topic and we've confirmed it's virtually universal.
And who was it that mandated those masks? Or the school closing? Or the social distancing?
Oh yeah. Brewha's experts.

I like the reasoning on the school mandate: Well kids are required to get other vaccines in order to attend.

They leave out "those are vaccines that address diseases that impact the kids in statistically significant proportion."

It amazes me how stupid the general public are. Political school hierarchy is a bane on our society.

What I think is amusing is the amount of groveling Tim Robbins is doing to try to get on the right side of the discussion. He was one of those rabid non-vaxx accusers and now wants to conveniently gaslight everyone into the "Everyone can make a mistake" crowd when he had a major pulpit to preach from.

I hear there's room for him on "Blue Bloods".

I'm waiting to hear those Lefty "Hitler had some good ideas too" remarks.
