Well, It fianlly happened 🙂 Despite the rain, the herf went great. It started off in Palmers Beer Garden. I walked in the back looking around for anyone smoking a cigar. I didn't see anyone. I kept walking in and saw someone all the way in the corner. He had a pint of Guinness and an Opus X. That was Rocco. Two more friends showed up and then the rain started and when I say rain, I mean RAIN! It was like someone opened a firehose. We jumped in our cars and went down the street to Harrys Sports Bar. Two more of my friends showed up there. After a while Gideon showed up with a friend and that would be everyone. Cigars were smoked, traded, and gifted by everyone. It was a fantastic time and I'm looking forward to doing it again.

Yes, a great time was had by all.

You forgot to mention that we we were the only ones sitting in the beer garden while it was raining with lightning and thunder going on all around us. We are talking major thunderstorm. We were huddled under the table's umbrella trying to keep our cigars dry.

We refused to go inside because we couldn't smoke. Finally after a bolt of lightning flashed above our heads did we finally go inside.

As we tried to move to the next bar we couldn't even see out of the car's windows to drive. We had to walk through ankle deep water to get inside the bar. Penguin came in soaking wet and didn't dry off the entire evening.

Die hard smokers to the end!

Tornado sirens going off all around us Friday. Had the kids and woman in the basement for most of that timne, which was about an hour. Reily (6) was scared out of his gord till I took him outside to show him what to look for.

My wife said it was pretty ugly by our house also. My little guy wouldn't leave her side all evening.

Yes, a good nite was had by all. After trekking my butt out to the 'burbs from the city and getting a bit lost along the way, I found a table of grinning guys enjoying what looked like a truckload of cigars. We enjoyed a lot of good smokes, good drinks, and great conversation. I even ended up with a AF 858 SG by the end of the night, thanx to Penguin. Can't wait to try that baby.

I'm looking forward to getting together again soon, once I get back from my trip.

To the rest of you Chicago folks out there - be sure to join us at the next herf. It's a hell of a time.

penguin -- sounds like i missed a good time... i was itching at the bit to come out, and my wife even asked me on thursday " arent you going to that smoking thing tomorrow night " just got the kids to bed and all hell broke loose with that friggin rain...and more rain.... i can just picture all that blue smoke coming out from under that umbrella!!! Glad everyone had a good time... I hope there will be another soon.... jer
