Wild Turkey used to be my thing...now i enjoy Knob Creek and Makers Mark...and once in a while i will sneak in a Turkey...

Makers Mark is good, Crown Reserve is great, but you're asking about burbons. It's not from Burbon Co. Kentucky (so they called it Sour Mash instead of Burbon), from south of the Mason-Dixon line is a brand of mash called Rebel Yell. IMHO the "mother's milk" of all sippin' whiskies. Goes great with any medium to full bodied smoke (a mild smoke will not just compete, but get lost in the mash flavor).

KY Bourbons? ... Wild Turkey or Makers Mark are, IMO, the best although in my life, I've poured in enough Beam to sink a battleship and find Mr Jack's fine product from next-door TN hard to ignore ...

Beam will do for most days, If your in the mood for something with a little more, Knob Creek, Bookers, Woodford reserve to name a few.


Well now that I think about it, most from KY are worth drinking.

I'm a little partial being a KY boy and all !!

Great post sketcha. As for me, I break out the Booker's when I'm feeling rich, but otherwise it's usually knob creek or Jack Daniels, though I recognize he's not from KY. I like Maker's Mark on occasion, but I agree with some earlier posts that it sometimes overpowers the more mild to medium cigars. I'd love to try some of that Rebel Yell though...
