I just watched a 60 Min. interview with him made several years back. He was fifty one years old and said the only time he was in a prison was when he went to Folsom, California and made the song. He was in county lock-ups and city drunk tanks but never did time. I believed the urban myth about him being in prison. I think more highly of him now than before.

Hedge it was a complete Album Johnny and June did back in the early 70's maybe late 70s together?? there were also other performers on the album also.. I also do not have the song with her and him together... Franky and Johnny??? I think was the song they did together and it was off a special tv program.. revised to fit on an album... but the Gospel special Album is the one I really want to find... My Mom eventually ended up years later giving my Dad back all his Albums and through the years before he passed away he had lost the collection...

A list of accomplishments; (?)

He wrecked every car he owned over a 7 year period.
He broke his jaw and nose in a reckless car accident
He destroyed two jeeps
He demolished a camper.
He sank two boats.
He jumped from a car just before it went over a 600 foot cliff.
He drank way too much whisky and beer and swallowed
amphetamines by the handful.
He divorced his wife.
Drug crazed he drove a tractor into an ice cold lake.
He knocked down doors, smashed in walls, and sawed the legs off furniture in motel rooms.
He triggered fire alarms in the middle of the night.

Johnny Cash did all the above before his 36th birthday. At the age of twelve he had given his life to Christ and through the bad and ugly years God did not give up on him.

Johnny did not know at that time that nearly half his life had passed him bye. A recommitment to Christ, a new marriage, and a desire to help others changed everything for Johnny.

The second half of his life would be different.
He is called an Institution of Country Music.
He won 10 Grammys.
He was a Bible believing church member.
He was a faithful husband.
He was a confessing Born again Christian.
He sowed seeds of favor into everyone around him.

A month before he died Johnny was quoted as saying, "Oh, I expect my life to end pretty soon," he says. "You know, I'm 71 years old. I have great faith, though. I have unshakable faith."

Any regrets Johnny? he was asked.
"I used to," he said, "But I forgave myself. When God forgave me, I figured I'd better do it, too."

God is the final judge of everyman. We would guess that The Man in Black is now clothed in white linen

All his practice done Johnny Cash is now hopefully singing praises to the Lord of Lord and King of Kings.

I can remember being a kid and listening to his music on fishing trips with dad. Seems like the only 8 tracks he owned were JC. I hated it at the time, needed rock-n-roll. It is odd how I remember many of the lyrics.
