Being an Athletic Trainer (sports medicine) I can tell you that "futbol" players are a different breed. Rain, Sleet, Snow, 105 degrees, -5 degrees, these guys don't care! The only weather that scares them is lightning. If there is a group of individuals with a more pure love for their sport....I don't know it.

i finally started playing again, but unfortunately it's of the indoor variety. it totally disregards the whole concept of "the beautiful game." basically all you do is shoot, once you get past the midfield line. i can't wait to play on a full field...

MoM- Chelsea is my 2nd favorite team, behind the Gunners. LOL.....when I lived in London, we tried and tried to get in to see Arsenal play at home, but it was all but impossible to get tickets. You are right, thank goodness for FSW. I watch it all the time, except for when they are showing rugby. I just can't get into that.

Being raised in northern New Jersey, I played football (soccer) since I can remember. My personal highlight was playing in a semi-pro league in Florida 'back in the day' in the early '80's and sharing the same pitch on separate occasions with Teofilo 'Nene' Cubillas (Opa Locka) and Gerd Muller (Ft. Lauderdale Smith Brothers). I'm glad to see so many folks appreciate 'the beautiful game'.

Regarding the Premiership, I think Chelsea's got the title sewn up. After spending 200 million pounds on players, Abramovich makes George Steinbrenner look like George Costanza...
