Got 5 this year.
1 with my crossbow, while enjoying a BBF on my back porch. And 4 with the front end of my 97 chevy pickup. OUCH. I hit the first one, claimed it on the insurace, had the work done, and POW, 2 days later, hit the second one, two days later I hit the third. I had an appointment, to have the body work done this week, but on the way to the body shop, I hit a big 8 point, on the opposite side, and the shop has to order more parts. LOL Looks like my insurace company, is not going to like me very much. LOL

Dave, are your spending time off-roading or are your neighboring deer spending time on your pavement painting the highway lines? As a math teacher, I can tell you that those odds of hitting so many deer in such a short time is virtually astronomical... unless you drive around a zoo all the time. Or in NC, maybe, too.

Meanwhile, a 30-incher, eh? What's that make it if it were a dame, an A-cup? Ugh, too small...

I teach at a PreK-8 Catholic School in RI. I teach advanced Math to the upper grades, 6-8. Nice little gig for a career change three years ago. Wish I had done this more than 10 yrs ago...

We are across from a major park on the water and do see some deer occassionally, but hunting is usally done around these parts with rifles, not veee-HICKles. 😉

RI is a small area and probably not as populated as Arkansas, Illinois or Missouri... and if you live in an area that is a small community or in the Country as I believe Homebrew does... you will soon find out fast even driving slow while the deer rutting season is going on.. it's a "Chance" at not hitting a deer while your out driving... especially if you have already gotten a bit of snow at all... this also brings the deer out in many groups for feeding a good friend/co-worker of mine did the same as Homebrew had happen to him a few years back... he scored 4 deer in less then a month and one right after his car came out of the shop LOL... my son has tagged an 8 pointer just a month or so back and waiting on the estamates and insurance company to get repairs... and my Brother-in-Law and step son have also scored their front fender deer for the year... myself and family have been lucky the past couple years...

I wish the state would keep an Interstate account of how many deer they had removed from the public highways and interstates each year and then base their Tag/Bag limits on this data...

Congrats on the Teacher deal.. especially math...I don't think I could have enough patients to be a teacher this day and age...

Nice Buck. Now let me start by saying I do enjoy hunting when I get a chance. Love the thrill of it all. My mother is a full blooded Cherokee lady and can track deer better than most men I've ever met. But I have to ask. How many of you guys go to these "deer lease"? I live in Tx now and the thing i just can't stomach is these so called "hunters" that go to these places that feed a deer, everyday for an entire season, then one day as Bambi goes to it's daily Mcdonalds drive through, 10-20 guys with scoped rifles take a shoot at him. Where's the sport? Where's the thrill? Where's the hunt?

Gypsy, these are popping up all over Hunting or Game Reserves (not the State run hunting grounds) but I have never been to one... last year my wifes family went on a hunt in Missouri for exotic animals... Wild Boar and Mountian Goats... $300.00-500.00 each.. with a bow...
I hunt where the cost is only what the DNR charges for the Tag, I cannot see it being a Hunt where everything is already planned out and your Guarneteed a kill...

some folks do not have the time to spend in the woods, or don't know the first thing about scouting for deer/ game etc.. and will spend this kind of money for the Hunt as they call it...
