The number of posts re: overbidding is approximately the same as the number of digits in pi

The first 1000 digits of pi can be seen at:

Cello on or cello off? I've never seen the answer to that question here before? And why does everyone overbid? And how do I get real Cubans on-line for really cheap? And could all you guys send me free cigars? You're all really nice and smart and stuff.

Congratulations! Ed McMahon will be at your doorstep soon!

Tip Bid...I didn't mean it as bribery in any way, but it got me thinking (uh oh partial threadjack)

I've seen all the posts for sending boxes out to troops on cbid forums AND I've seen random lists on the web of 'what to send our troops', which mention cigars an specifically state CI is great for this. I haven't seen anything like an auction of maybe 200 sticks (200 quantity) opening at say 1.00 where all the bought/won sticks went to ppl serving overseas (winning bid comments get included in a letter or something). That was kinda the thing I was thinking of w/ the tip comment. Like the guys at CB/CI don't deserve a freebie everyonce in a while..I mean someone even corrects spelling mistakes in the forums if we behave. Call it a greatful customer reverse auction...I mean it is holiday time and if you want your name on the top of a list isn't it better to be there out of vain charity than pure vanity?

Of course maybe I just haven't searched around enough. I vote for 'free weeds...pick your own'

CB has always been very generous with sending cigars to our troops, and have done so many times already ...

... and what someone does with their winning bid, is totally up to them. If they want to send them to the troops ... that is a very admirable thing to do on their part.

I don't understand why it would be necessary for CB to have a special auction, just for someone to send cigars to our men in action ...

Slim

I think what Jason is saying is a charity-type auction where a lot is set up for us to bid on. Then, at the end of bidding, CI/CB sends the sticks directly overseas to the troops, with maybe a note from the winner or something. Dunno.

"it would be necessary for CB to have a special auction"

Why shouldn't special people be able to bid at regular CB auctions? Or were you saying something else slim?

OK ... I truly don't understand your posts, because for some reason, they just don't make sense to me.

"Why shouldn't special people be able to bid at regular CB auctions?"

When did I ever say, or even imply ... that?

Oh well, it seems that you don't understand my posts either ... LOL!
