Depends on the cigar. Some are fantastic to the nub. Others start tasting bad halfway down. Depends on the strength of the cigar, the age, the number of times you're relighting it and how hard you're hitting it.

Bottom line - quit when it doesn't taste good anymore!

If it's a real good one, I use a paperclip or an alligator clip and smoke it like I saw Cheech & Chong do in a movie.

Purge your gar every so often if it starts to get too hot.
