You know I will.....I hate night games though. WAY too much time for the students to be drinking before the game (no... the fans not the players) always gets ugly! Haha

82: I've done that several times. Comes out great. Plus it makes the house smell awesome!

I use the crock pot several times a month, more in the winter.

German red cabbage is great in there. German roladen (sp) also.

I cook whole chickens in it too and shred it for stews, chicken tacos stuff like that as well.

K, I've been drinking since like 2 (sister in law had a baby shower today and my brother in laws and I skipped out to a bar) but I'll try to give the recipe. I have no real measurements cause this is off the top of my head.

Red Cabbage, I prefer cut thicker slaw style
Piece of salt pork, not so big, rinsed off well (Optional, but pork, c'mon!)
Red wine vinegar, couple tablespoons
1 or 2 Granny Smith Apples sliced thin. (Number of apples depends on how big your crock pot is and how much cabbage you can fit in it)
Brown Sugar
Freshly ground black pepper
Kosher Salt (Amount depends on whether or not you use the salt pork)
Optional: Freshly ground nutmeg

And I think that's about it.

Cook it on low for 6-8 hours and damn if it isn't good and it makes the house and neighborhood smell great if your windows are open.

I've done this for company several times.

Sounds great: the house will smell GREAT the day that it's cooking -- and AWFUL the day after!

PS

tofu sucks unless it's in a good bowl of Hot and Sour soup.

Cold tofu with finely chopped green onions, wasabi and shoyu is another way to eat it. Or sometimes grated ginger instead of the wasabi.

Could also cut soft tofu into small blocks and add it to miso soup.
