Ajeroth, it has been about three months sense you have up dated. How is it working? I have bought a wine cooler and have a friend building Spanish ceder shelves for it.Thanks again for the idea.

Merocha... I would love to have spanish cedar shelves.
I thought about it but I'm not that handy with wood.
It's still working like a champ. I've only had one problem. I over watered the Climmax beads and since it seals so well I had to take out the tray of beads for a day and leave the door open for about an hour to let moisture out. No big deal though. It's back to normal and still working like a champ. I'll have to see about getting another picture up. It won't look as nice as yours with those cedar shelves. My wire ones work but aren't pretty. I still have my big humi in there but took out the rest of them. And put the cigars out in the open. The big humi fits perfect down there at the bottom and I don't want to ruin it by taking the top off of anything. I'm going to look for a wire basket that has the same dimensions and use that instead. I also went on a trip for a week and a half and all my wife had to do was make sure the thing stayed plugged in. I love that she didn't have to mess with trying to fill credo units or anything. I put a little water in there before I left and it was perfect still when I got back. I hope your project goes well.

Many thanks to you! My ewave fridgadoor has been up and running for just over a month now. I say fridgadoor beacause I bought the "beverage cooler" model. Same exact specs as the wine cooler, just is a bit smaller and cheaper ($20 cheaper, hey, another 5 pack at cbid).

Installed the johnson controller which is a must! Any temp over 68, and the cooler kicks on! Like you said, humidity drops only for the moment when it runs, but the 1lb. of 65% climmax beads holds just perfect.

I used 1/4" spanish cedar for the shelves. Then used extra spanish cedar and built a rack system in the lower section that holds about 100 loose sticks. Perfect for 5 packs and singles.

Eventually, I`ll line the walls with more spanish cedar , but for now, all is working perfect! I`ll post a few pics soon as I get a chance. For any BOTL or SOTL in high temp climates, this is the only way to go!

So you got the cube shaped one... Nice. I was looking at that one first. Couldn't beat the price on that one. But the more I looked at the size, the more I realized I need the bigger one. Glad its working for you. I agree, anybody in a hot climate, these things are easy to make and low maintinence.

The ploomidoor has been put to the test recently. It was 78 in the house today, it was 70.2 in the ploomidoor "like a rock". That's at the top shelf, the bottom is about 69.8. And humidity stays rock solid at 68%. I finally have it tuned perfectly... But it's different than a fridgadoor, it's a thermoelectric cooler, no compressor.

I've seen the photos of the Ploomidor. Classy is what comes to mind. Yours is a fine looking piece of furniture as well as a fine humidor. Mine is useful and sevres a purpose. Thanks again for the beer lagering tip...
