Hi my name is Thom. *All* Hi Thom. And I'm a Cbid-aholic. Like banjowizard said, this place is like crack. My first post at cigarbid was asking for help on buying a humidor. The suggestion was that since I had found this place, and money was an object, to get a tupperdor. I laughed. Hahaha, tupperdor, that's funny. So I bought a nice table topper holds about 75 smokes. (That's less than 20, 5 packs, y'know). Now I've got the table humi, and 2 tupperdors with a box pass coming soon and a birhday club on the way. Wait, I'm starting to sound like a parent. lol

And I'd love to get my hands on a 3000+ humi. So long house. Goodbye car. Hello Cohiba!

i started with 10-15 count humi, found this site, bought a 50. Soon after a 100 ct humi. Then the 100, 50 and 15 ct full! bought another 120 ct. Planned on using only the 100 and 120. Currently both full and still packing them in the 50. ARRRRRRRRRR

---going to look for a 300 ct humi on cigarbid right now 🙂

CBid's best friend has got to be local tobacco shops. I go in to 2-3 different ones here and see smokes selling for $5-8/each that go for $9-12 per 5 pack on CBid. I can't resist such a good deal!

Hello again all. I got the humi, had the wife do some posing next to it. Went to post it...pic was too big. Soooo, I'm going to have to take some at a lower resolution. Let me tell you, that baby is sweet. Smells really good. Just won a bid for a Cigar Oasis II which I'm expecting this week. Then, daddy will be moving his 'gars over to the monster! No more need to watch TV, I'll just sit in front of my humi and stare at my babies! I'm just wondering what will happen when/if I fill that baby up. Hmmm, maybe a shed-a-dor!

That's funny. What's after the sheador? Garageador then Threebedroomhouseador? Heck just go for the mallador or airplanehangerador and be done with it. lol

I have had the Verona for a while. Only problem I had with it was the RH was difficult to maintain if the door wasn't locked. Went to Home Depot and got some of those magnetic cabinet latches and put one at the top and bottom of the door. Works like a charm. You get a solid feeling "click" when you shut the door and I don't have any problem maintaining RH now.

BTW, I ordered an Oasis II but found that unless you order the remote fan with it, air doesn't circulate well enough to the top of the cabinet to maintain consistant RH throughout. There is a 5-6 degree difference between the bottom and the top. To solve this problem I put a small tupperware container with beads on the top shelf. Worked like a charm. I like my cigars on the dryer side (65 degrees) because I've found the draw better with no loss of flavor. So now I maintain 65 RH top and bottom.

As a "heads up" you'll likely go through the first filling of the Oasis II with distilled water pretty quickly. That's a lot of Spanish Cedar lining to bring up to speed. But my second filling is already lasting almost twice as long as my first, and is still going.

P.S. You'll fill it quicker (with cigars, that is) than you could dream possible!!!!

Whew!...........Sorry for all the verbage, but wanted to share my experiences with it..............

arwings,

I had the same problem with top and bottom humidity and did the same thing you did except I use the beads both top and bottom.

Great idea for getting the door to seal better. I've been locking mine since I got it to keep the seal tight.

Guys, how is this for an addiction. I have both the Verona and the Tower of Power. I use the Staebell & Assoc. "Set & Forget" and it keeps them both well maintained 65% top to bottom.

Wow, all bow to the king!! So, is that the next step? Start lining the house with humi's? I like the hangar-a-dor idea. Do you think C-bid will start offering the 3,000,000+ size? I bet if they did I would probably work my way up to it!!! I keep saying, there's no way I can fill that baby up...hmmmm. My saving grace at the moment is that I'm in the military and I have to move this summer. Don't want to buy to many when I won't have any place for them to sleep while I'm moving. So I have to keep my stash limited to my two wood humi's (350 capacity) my Otter Box 24, a case my wife bought me by mistake from that cigar place that starts with "T" and a Monte CDA humi I got.
