2000 cigars and 75% from one retailer.

I think your cigar jones would be better served if you explored many online vendors. There are fabulous deals always available, if you look hard enough.

I don't want to look hard enough as you say, I have always liked CI and am pretty loyal to them. I have a loyal following as well in my business even though customers could get better deals sometimes from Amazon. I like the way CI does business and the way they've treated me.

I told my wife I was going to pull out early, but I pulled out two hours too late and now I have to pay child support. You got off easy by comparison!

Aberdeen: I respect your loyalty. I think you make a business better by also shopping their competition. One of my best friends owns a premium cigar shop and lounge. I'd be doing him a disservice by buying all my cigars from him.

Let's look at this from the operator's point of view. Just before you called another person called in and ordered the PI's. The order is taken and at the end when the regular price is charged the customer says "it was supposed to be a sale price, are you trying to cheat me?" She says, "the sale ended one hour ago". He says "well why didn't you tell me then? I want to speak to your manager."
You call and she tells you right up front so you won't get mad at the higher price and you feel she was rubbing your nose in it, and want to speak to her manager.
Should she not tell and possibly offend a customer, or should she tell and possibly offend a customer?
Hmmm. . .

as I said, she did not tell me up front, I placed my order, I was going to order these anyway, then she mentioned I just missed the sale.

I think my comparison, walking into a car dealership to buy a car, and the salesman tells you, oh you just missed a $1000 rebate, that ended this morning, you would not take it kindly.

Plus in the case you mentioned, the customer new there was a sale, and it was his own fault he missed the sale, he had a week to call in the order. If that were me, I would NOT expect the sale price if I called late. Anyway, it worked out well, and I think too much has been made of it

Everything else aside, you DID call too late and you still DO want the sale price...
Hmmm...
