How did they meet? World War II?

Interesting story:

My Dad had two degrees( two medical) and was a professor and a physician. He headed the South African Institute of Medical Research and my mom was his secretary. (Her family moved to Johannesburg after her father dies in a mine; was a mining engineer)Mom and Dad both had kids from a previous Marriage and they left SA after several years of marriage. They arrived in Canada (Halifax) and had me.

There's the story. Interesting because Dad was born and raised in Germany, moved to England, lived in Scotland and finally went to SA (I always figured it was destiny!)
