Anybody see those articulated scissors, with the three blades? I think it was Colibri that made them. I haven't been able to find them after seeing one in a shop some time ago. I guess that might be telling as to how well they work. I never liked the v-cut for some reason (pure spite, I guess). I have been favoring the pseudo punch cut lately (no punch, so x-acto blades, and carefull fingernail pinching replicate the effect).

I just use cheap double blades for now. Tried single blades and always ended up with bad cuts, crushing one side of the gar if it was a very thick gar. Doubles work pretty good considering how cheap they are, but one of these days ill splurge on a sak.

I'm down with the SAK. Very sharp blade works wonderfully, even on torps.

I range from biting the end, to the SAK.

I have given up cutters except for Pyramids and Torps.

Now I just pop off the cap with my thumbnail like my heros do... Yep, I am that shallow... 🙂

I bite the cap off when I'm at home most of the time. When I'm out or around "aficionados" 🙂 I usually use a cutter of the not so expensive variety. Its just not the most important part of smoking a cigar to me, and I don't really understand the obsession that some have to buy $50+ cutters?? Seems like more $ that could be spent on good gars imo.

I bought 2 for $3.00 double blade self sharpening here, they work just as well as the $30.00 my wife gave me.
