Dave, I apologize for your having to deal with this. . . apparently I am not enough of an elitist to know the differences between all these cigars. . . to be honest, I don't smoke expensive cigars, I give them away. . . I don't understand Smelly's logic though - If he wants me to use a cost basis, the Paul G. is only a $6.00 cigar (same as a Pimp Stick) I could link the site, but you know, I cannot. . . on the other hand, if it's his perception on what is a quality smoke, then I guess the $10 Perdomo shouldn't be exchanged for a $9 Padron. . . . I couldn't answer that, having smoked neither one. . .

Anyhow, Smelly did step on some toes, all 10 of them. . . the last thing I want is to ruin his or anyone elses experience with this, but I also don't appreciate him discrediting my integrity. . . so I'm sorry I'm not an elitist, but I wasn't trying to rip him off. . . I do personally think he could have handled it differently, and I would have been happy to correct the box BEFORE I sent it out. . . . I've read a lot of Box Pass threads, and seen a lot of "let me know how I did comments", but never seen such a snobbish reply. . . makes me a trendsetter. . . .

Dave, I apologize again. . . because the box has been sent already, I will be sending all the cigars directly to you to redistribute. . . please don't send me mine back, as I would like them shared with everyone. .

I am Very Sorry if you took my post that way. I am only a small part of this boxpass, and maybe I should have just butt-out....but the pricing was just way off, IMO.

An elitist? Pah-lease!

How is it my problem if you don't know what your taking and what it's worth is.

I was just looking out for Dave, and if I stepped on all 10 of anybody's toes......wear thicker socks!

I thought a box pass would be a great thing to get into. Starting to have my doubts now. i would have done the same thing Seth Gecko did as far as price comparisons. I guess i would have been wrong too. When i get the box i'll do my takes and ask what to put i guess.

Hey guys...this is supposed to be fun and an opportunity to trade a few sticks.

With respect to pricing...I always specify which site will be used to determine stick cost & if the site does not have that particular stick then send a note to the person who put it in the pass.

I don't agree with posting prices on the board as it tends to make people feel uncomfortable and overly cautious as to what they take and put which takes the fun out of it.

I agree though with ISOM for ISOM or $8 domestic stick for something in the same ball park $9 or less.

Remember guys it is Dave's pass not ours..if Dave had a problem he will address it with the person directly and arrange a solution outside the pass.

These are fun and friendly passes.

Hey everyone, this can be fun. . . Sometimes we have bad days, and make poor decisions. . . . Smelly emailed me last night, and was quite sincere with his apology. . . I accept it, and also apologize for calling him an elitist and a snob. . . .

Anyone who knows me, knows how unselfish I am when it comes to cigars. . . . I save all my better cigars to trade, and smoke the crappy ones. . . I would feel guilty smoking a good stick, while giving away less than decent ones. . . given what I could find in the short amount of time I researched Friday, I sincerely thought I was making fair trades. . . . Cbids policy against posting competitors websites make it very difficult to defend my researched prices, which is why I didn't want to discuss the pricing publicly. . . In retrospect, I can understand the PAM being more desirable than the Perdomo. . . for that, I apologize, but you have to believe me, the store clerk who sold it to me for 14 dollars swore up and down it was the best cigar on earth. . . .

I thank everyone for their emails and messages of encouragement. . . I also welcome advice and constructive criticism on cigar trades, but please, email me if you can. . . .

I want everyone to forget about this, as Dave, Smelly and I have talked it over. . . . I am going to send a little package to Bill Reif (my offer), to try to make up any discrepancies. . . I don't mind, as again, the reason I have these cigars, is to give them away. . . Bill can go ahead and add them to the pass list. . .
It'll include a Fuente Fuente Opus X (which was my original trade for the PAM, but I didn't only because the identical cigar was already in the pass), an Ashton Cabinet #7, Partagas Limited Reserva Natural Robusto, and a La Flor Dominicana Reserva Especial Figurado. . . . I'm also going to include a couple of the originals I took. . . . I don't need anything in return, I just want everyone to have a great, varied selection to choose from in this pass. . .

. . . I apologize again for that one, as I thought the Pimp Stick was one of Drew's NON Aromatic cigars. . . apparently it isn't. . . .

How are the pimp sticks?...I have yet to have a drew estate cigar other than the one I took out of the pass but have yet to smoke it.
