The problem as I see it with the Cohiba is the Piramides were from 2001. The top band would be correct, it's the Edicion Limitada band that's wrong.

RiversideJohnny --- are you sure?

CA said that the Cohiba's new band was released in June, 2003, first appearing on the new Siglo VI.

Yea, I'm pretty sure. When I saw this post, that's the first thing I noticed. So I went to my Tower of Power humi and brought out the box of these. They're all from 2001. Box code CVA DIC 02. The vendor I bought them from is VERY reliable. Give me you email address and I'll send some photos.

Slim,

The new Cohiba band first appeared on the Siglo VI as was already mentioned in posts before mine...
The next Cohiba that the new band was used on was the Cohiba Double Corona EL 2003 with a edicion limitada 2003 band underneath...
They have also started using it on the Piramides pack which contains the Piramide of Cohiba, Montecristo, Romeo y Julieta, Partagas, and Hoyo de Monterey...
I have seen some Siglo V with it and most if not all of the 2004 stamped boxes and on should have the new band...

Oh one more thing Slim,
The Cohiba Piramide from 2001 is not gold stamped but exactly like the original bands with the two rows on top of the Cohiba type and still reads La Habana, Cuba and a 2001 EL band underneath... From my understanding a gold stamped Cohiba label with two rows of dots on top does not exist and if you have it, it is a fake...
Watch for a picture post on a Siglo VI, Double Corona EL 2003 and a Piramide soon...

I think I see the light. Man you guys stay up late (or everyone is on the west coast). I was only paying attention to the Cohiba band and not the combination of cigar type and the LE band in combination with the Cohiba band.

Buckwheat --- I don't think that they made the 'newer' bands with only two rows of white squares ... so I still think that it is a fake.

Of course, this is all I have to go on ... because the site you sent me only shows the 'old style' band, wich is the one with the two rows ...

I believe I found a picture of the Cohiba EL Torpedo that RiversideJohnny was talking about ... the 2001 ... but it has the 'old style' band, and that is the one with the black and gold 2001 band beneath it ...

... I'll post a photo of it ...

Is the resolution on the photograph poor?
I'm looking for a triple cap on the Series D.

Slim, you are right because:

1. The gold embossed COHIBA is too high. There should be another line of squares above it.

2. Because of 1., Habana, Cuba is up too high. It should be at the bottom of the label.

Habanaphiles seem to agree that there is quite a variation in many bands. But NOT the COHIBA because it is so widely counterfeited.
That said, the cigar still looks tasty but is probably not be what it is purported to be. 😞

Steve*R --- your are correct ... the resolution is poor. I still have one of the PSD#3 EL Maduro (I had 5 at one time), and it does have the triple cap.

All the rest are authentic ... those were acquired from different (and very reliable) sources ...
