Taste like Chicken,LOL.

Goffins, like most of the Cockatoos, are a little unstable emotionally. Sometimes when they think they aren't getting exactly what they think they should be getting they take it out on themselves by feather plucking. It's usually an attention thing or a change in routine with Coackatoos.

Rick,
I am looking into getting an African Grey. Both the Congo and Timhen are beautiful. I was hoping to get a conure, but my passion is the Grey.

There is a Red-Fronted Conure, 2 years of age, at a local pet store. They are wanting $800 with the cage. I was visiting and he took a liking to me. The lady there said that the bird has bitten several others and is usually not that friendly. While he was a pleasure to sit with, I am not sure what I am going to do.

Conures are beautiful birds and some can be rather loud if that could be a problem. I love the Greys and have a Timneh as a pet. They are so much more the clowns than the Congos and get along with my other birds.

BMW,
I have been looking all over for a local that breeds or has Greys. I would love to find someone around the MD area that would be willing to let me visit and spend time with one of the birds so I can gauge for myself if it is truly what I want. Like I said, I have been wanting one for years, but all of the breeders are about 300 miles away and the bird costs atleast $800 and then $200 for shipping, and then there's a cage and food and all that. I am willing to invest the money, since this will be a lifetime commitment, but I would atleast like to find something local and save some money that could be used for the cage or what not. Not to mention, I would like to be able to contact the breeder/seller with ease should something arise with the birds health.

Check out BIRD TALK mag. They have a state by state listing of breeders in the classifieds in the back. Too bad you not closer (Houston, Tx) I could hook you up with some nice choices. A google search might help too.

top for Rick.

Here he is Rick. Of course now he's a little older and talking very well. He's a complete nut and constantly entertains us.

I recently got two parakeets 🙂

Now I think I want a cockatoo :-|

Is this bird thing going to be addictive like CBid, and soon I will have a spare room full of cages?
