the above description could generally describe just about any American (including a few of us on this board). My Bio: Food stamps until age 17 (Caterpiller laid off the entire town), 13 years US Army Special Opns, Disabled Vet Medically retired. rehab, then paid way through PhD, paid off loans, then went back to the lands that I "grew up" in (Southeast Asia). Making a living now doing the same thing I've always done, but getting paid a much more reasonable salary for the risk. No shame that I have quite honestly earned every f*ckin' penny I spend. It is the real goal of some economists to eliminate nationality and to have all governing lines be defined economically. Then you can sit around in your alleyway drinking beer and discussing the significance of military service and sacrifices. When the military is eventually controlled by private interests (as opposed to our collective interests), we will have nothing but Pinkerton guards.

Basically founded by Thomas Edison, producer of Nobel Laureates, and built on the ingenuity and hard work of many generations of Americans, it is now being out-sourced to India. This is the equivalent of taking a national treasure and moving it to another country. Right-wing logic would say that this is the economically correct thing to do. However, this is a threat to our economy and, given the nature of some of what GE does, a threat to national security.

I agree! Outsourcing is going to be the downfall of the American economy. There will son be no jobs left but executive positions, and janitors to clean out their offices. All production and middle management jobs will be overseas, paying peanuts, but the unions have largely priced the American worker out of the job market, so what can you do?
