Not even a BCS bowl (granted we were stuck in the MAC and had a weak schedule because of that, hey, we'd only been 1-A 2 whole years)

Natl. Champ shot? NO. BCS bowl? NO.
Well at least we got into a major big money bowl worth a FEW million, right? NO.

The Motor City Bowl. $500K minimum req to have a bowl, in December, in Detroit. Killed top 20 BYU (had the QB chewing out his own linemen we were sacking him so often). Wound up 10th. Oh well......

Playoffs are the only way to go.

I guess we will see who is number one. I happen to think it will be the Sooners. Look at who we played and who USC played. No comparison! Yeah, I know the Eastern sports writers don't like us stupid Oakies, but tough, they are just going to have to take it one more year. GO SOONERS! By the way, our basketball teams here in "Sooner Land" aren't so bad either.

staple, no offense, but that argument is not even in the same ballpark. Marshall going 11-0 in the same light as a 12-0 SEC Champion........sorry, raisins to watermelons......

All I got to say is USC. I am not saying Auburn didn't deserve a shot, but you could say that about Utah or Cal too. SC got the raw end of the stick last year as did Cal this year and Oregon the year before SC and Washington before them. Are you seeing a patern here. The PAC-10 has been hated on ever since the BCS crap began. The PAC-10 is the only major conference to never compete for the BCS title, because the East Coast sports writers never watch our games, they come on too late back East and most of the sports writers who have a say so and those in charge in the NCAA front office are SEC school grads. All of this is verifiable information as well.

Did you know that Carson Palmer was the first West Coast player to win a Heisman Trophy since Marcus Allen? There has been just as good of talent after him, but most of the teams on that side of the contry dominated for so long, there had to be a change of guard so somebody chose the SEC.

Is the SEC the best conference? That is debatable. I say no. Count Heisman Trophies and National Championships by conference teh PAC-10, Big 10, Big 12, and Notre Dame will flash at higher marks then the newly visible SEC.
