Slim

I really wish I haden't opened this post but I felt a need to tell you that my feelings are with you and your wife.

It's taken me three tries to write this post as my eyes keep welling up with tears. I feel your pain pal.

I lost 4 of my cats in the last three years. All were 17 to 19 years old. It never gets easy in fact it sucks real bad, but I wouldn't trade my life with my cats for anything.

Over the last 6 months I got two kittens from someone giving them away. Give yourselves time to heal and then go out and save a kitten from a shelter or from someone who doesn't want them. You'll get the same love back that you gave to Smokey because you are kind and good people.

I hope your healing is swift. Look forward to a new life for you and your wife as well as giving a good life to more of God's creatures.

As you were blessed with Smokey, Smokey was blessed by having you. You will be rewarded in the end in many ways.

Yes you will see Smokey again!

God bless you both, peace be with you.

anthony

p.s. my birthday is on the 22nd of this month, Saturday, I'm not going to wait till then. I'm gonna smoke one of my special gars for you and Smokey!

Sorry to hear of your loss Slim.
Nothing can take the place of a longterm family member.
I will smoke my last PSD#3EL in honor of Smokey.

Hate to hear that Slim...
My wife and I lost our cat last week as well. Dr. Romans Galish Penderschloss, Esq. She found him dying the day we brought our 3-month-home from a week in the hospital. He had a blood clot in his aorta.

I'm not a cat person, but he was a good one. We found him about a month after we got married - more than nine years ago. My wife and 4-year-old are still very upset about it - and that bothers me.

Again, sorry for your loss.

Much thanks to all ...

... we had three, and now are down to just that 'big fat' 20 lb. Manx ... Mandy. It wasn't too long ago (a little over a year or so) that we had to do the same with Crickett, and it just doesn't get any easier.

The hardest part, is when I come home for lunch, or when I get off of work ... I find myself subconsiously walking to the back door to let her in, or reaching for her pills to give her her meds, or getting her bowl down to feed her.

Those little critters become such a part of our lives ... it sure leaves us feeling a big empty spot in our souls when they are gone forever.

Sadness is just one of those emotions that I just find it difficult to deal with ...

... it will take time.

Very touching. I had a manx cat, named smokey with a little bob tail for 23 years. My momma got her for me for my first day of kindergarden when i was 5(in 1976). My thoughts go out to you. After that much time, they do become a part of you.

Slim,

So sorry to hear about your loss. Yes cats do have a way of becoming a huge part of our lives in fact. I was cleaning out one of the back rooms in my office in fact yesterday and came accross my cat, Tiger's, old collar and bell. It still in fact has his fur on it from over 15 yrs ago. I picked up the collar and just recalled some of the good times with the stupid cat!! He wasn't the smartest one around but he was like the mayor of the block. He just loved to walk up to people specially kids and let them pet him. He loved to when inside just lie on us and relax and purr. Geez I still miss him!! I don't think we ever forget our little friends. I still think of him and our first one also alot!!

My vet once told me that cats are one of the reasons she believes there is a higher being.

Amazing animals - lots of subtleties in their actions and personalities.
