Two questions. How do you think a more isolationist government would improve the economy? -- Define 'isolationist'. Just cutting spending is not gonna do it either, the economy needs to grow, not go into recession. -- First, we're already in recession and have been for a while. Second, the economy grows when PEOPLE spend money HERE. The economy doesn't grow when government taxes the people and spends their money in Iraq, Afghanistan, and 100 other countries. And if socialism is a failure, communism a failure and capitalism is the best system, why does China own our ass? The standard response is we spent too much, but it happened in a capitalist system. -- If you honestly believe we practice Capitalism in this country, you are seriously delusional. Under true Capitalism, there would be a minimal national debt, if any at all. The bailouts wouldn't have happened. We wouldn't have military bases in 100+ countries. Solyndra wouldn't have happened. We wouldn't have to borrow money from China. Look up the definition of 'Corporatism'. THAT'S what we practice here. If it were the best we shouldn't be having economic problems ever. Sure, cut more taxes for the 'job creators' and corporations, get rid of regulation and everything will get better. If that were true we're going in the opposite direction as all that has happened is all the money is flowing and staying at the top screwing the 99%. It would only get even worse and ruin what little of the republic we have left. -- Again, look up 'Corporatism', AKA 'crony capitalism'. Our problems have been caused by government intervention, not by a lack of intervention . Who was screwed by TARP? The 99% or the 1%?

And Somalia is used because it is the best example of a place with no government regulations, no . . .all the rest. -- No. Somalia is used relentlessly by the pro-big government crowd. That's why I asked if you all read the same blogs. It was sarcasm.

Pure libertarianism doesn't exist and it's suppositions assume too many factors, like a corporation will 'do the right thing' based on conscience and reputation. -- Not conscience. Reputation, yes, and also pressure from consumers. I'm not saying that if we switch the button to Libertarianism that everything would magically be OK. It takes effort. People have to be informed, conscientious consumers. It's up to US to regulate the market. US...as consumers, workers. Imagine if there was an "Occupy Wal Mart" movement. Do you think they might start treating their workers better? I do. You and too many others trust government to "keep them in line". How's THAT working for us? You think that's working now? It's like Communism's assumption that there are no greedy bastards who want everything. We know that's not the case, just look at the leaders of these countries.

Ron Paul comes off like a kook with some good ideas that will never work in a country that is based on greed. His staunch supporters play the victim card. I like most of his ideas, his direction, but he is too extreme. Can we just get a true fiscal conservative, socially moderite liberal candidate. WTF. I hate the republican candidates. Romney will probably be the one. About 19% better than Obama.

Fuzz is still an idiot. I really don't understand why you continue to engage with him. It's sad.

Lets smoke.

I only read until post 30 or so. I do disagree with the thread title. He is not a menace, but he is not anyone I want representing this country to the world.

I forgot about that one, who has the hottest wife. That's an important thing for the country, whether or not the first lady is f*ckable.
