Hey Fishbopper,

Lighten up.... Cigars isn't just about blowing smoke. The fellowship of the cigar is a context in which life is contemplated, friendships are acted out, and issues are interacted upon. "Faith" or the lack there of is a subject that is common among all peoples who walk this earth. So why not discuss it while enjoying one of Gods finer earthly gifts given to us; the leaf. There are some of us who have chosen the Christian way and are so convinced that He is the way, truth, and life that it is very natural thing to "god talk". Don't get me wrong; some Christians are really offensive. In fact, I dare say only the Lord can actually love them. On this forum, I don't think I've met any self righteous Christians that belong to "The Turn Or Burn Church." Personally, the thing I like about following Christ is the fact that I don't have to be perfect; just forgiven. And that is His job, not mine. So don't get mad and ruin a perfectly good cigar, but rather think up a good response and post it. You will probably find that there is a lot of common ground to be found among us.

That's the link to the Shirt... 17.99 I believe. I think i'll be picking one up. I won't wear it to Church or anything but then I don't go to Church.
That shirt is probably better than my favorite one...
It's a plain black T with small white letters. It says "I'd Rather Be Masturbating." I've had that shirt so long I won't wear it in public anymore because of the holes. I literally wore it out. I hope the Fishmonger is happy now. I won't lose sleep over his leaving. Ok time for me to act like a baby and head out...

Well, it doesn't say Jesus Christ is metal does it. And Jesus is a popular name (pronounced Hay-sues). Just food for thought.

This weekend I kept telling myself to stay away from this thread, but I'm just stupid enough to post here anyway. Well, here we go:

Cexshun, are you serious?
"Although I've been examining this from all angles, and I can't see any way see this as derrogatory towards Jesus in any way. If some of you do, well sorry"

That can't possibly be true. Of course, you can see how some might find it to be offensive. To Christians, Jesus isn't some goofy cartoon character. He is the bringer of salvation for mankind. He is the son of God. You get a kick out of this comic strip and him acting out of character because he is not sacred to you. You know for a fact that he is quite sacred to many in this country and many on these boards. Why on Earth would you post something like this and ask why people are so upset? Man, it's painfully obvious. I've said this many times before, and I'll say it again for clarification. I'm not a Christian. This shirt and the comic strip don't bother me. However, I can clearly see how this can be considered offensive. You're making a joke of something people base their lives on. This is something people feel is more important than anything else that exists. You still don't see how this is offensive? Look, we both know why this bothers folks. I don't care that it's posted. I don't care that people will wear the shirt. I don't even care if people say they hate Christianity. It's their right. Just don't tell me you don't understand why stuff like this is considered offensive to some audiences. Enjoy your freedom to express yourself, but be prepared to accept the backlash. By accepting, I don't mean denying acts that provoke the response. You're getting blasted, and you should. You knew this was coming.

You know, I would have stayed quiet if you just would have accepted the criticism and stopped acting like you didn't know what was going on. You can't make a joke out of religion and expect to have a peaceful response.

Oh, yeah, and to fishbopper, who cares?

Plabonte: "And Jesus is a popular name (pronounced Hay sues"

Have you ever known a Hay sues who had a halo and wore a robe.... if your answer is yes, than I ask you to go look at the comic strip that it derived from to clear up any confusion about which Hay sues/Jesus this shirt would be referring to.
