My vote will probably go to Gary Johnson. And don't gimme that 'You're wasting your vote' or 'a vote for a 3rd party will help re-elect Obama' horses#it. We've already established that there's no difference between Romney and Obama. Why do you think people lovingly refer to Romney as "Obamney"? Voting for the same candidate every election is wasting your vote. Voting for "the lesser of 2 evils" is wasting your vote. A vote for the lesser of 2 evils is still a vote for evil. I'm a Libertarian and not quiet about it. I understand that not everyone is going to agree. I'm not sitting here saying, "If you don't agree with me, you're an idiot." I'm saying that if you keep voting Dem or Rep, even in the face of sooooooooo much evidence that they are one and the same on 90% of the issues, you are a sucker. And part of the problem.


Year after year, election after election, democrats, republicans, democrats, republicans, demublicans, republicrats....and where has it gotten us? Seriously, I want an answer.


We are engaged in perpetual war. Syria and Iran are next. I would bet money on it.
We are losing our civil liberties. Some very alarming legal precedents have been set in the past decade.
Our currency has been destroyed and our economy is in shambles. The dollar is on the verge of losing its status as world reserve currency.
Our national debt is at a point that it can never be paid off, not even close. Don't kid yourself.
We've lost our respect on the world stage.
Corporations write much of our regulatory policy.


I could go on and on, but I don't need to. You all know these things are true.

I'm not coming at this from a "I'm right, you're wrong" point of view. I am simply stating facts. Things are f**ked up, and we continue to put the same clowns in office. The only thing different is the color of their clown noses.

He can only do so much other than direct legislation. Perhaps, you should also look to finger point at the Supreme Court AND Congress as well, for all the failings which are apparently getting you perilously angry and/or depressed. You're right about the other branches of government, and my rants in this thread apply to them as well. Ask yourself this: If Dems and Reps are really so ideologically opposed to each other, why is it that every really BIG piece of legislation always miraculously seems to get passed? The Patriot Act, the bailouts, S-CHIP, war spending, foreign aid, corporate welfare, even Obamacare. Any piece of legislation that puts more power in the hands of government or takes power away from the people always gets passed somehow. Much smaller bills get blocked or fillibustered all the time.

But the President has a choice when dealing with the legislature. He can either sign or veto whatever they set on his desk.
