Okay, let's try this again. Regardless of one's opinions, religious or otherwise, no one has the right to deny others their rights. All this crap about traditional marriage is nothing more than people who dislike gays trying to keep them from getting the rights they deserve. This is no different than when religious people were against integration because they believed that blacks were animals, that a black skin was the curse of Cain and countless other idiotic beliefs. Despite what you make like to believe, gays do not want to take over the world. They want the same benefits that straight couples get. Nothing more, nothing less. Of course these are the ramblings of a gay-homo militant extremist, so I expect they will be ignored.

This is where the facts don't support your claim.
I live in massachusetts. We were the first (I think) to flirt with the Civil Union tag so that gay couples would be afforded all the "rights" of married couples: Think healthcare, hospital visitation, etc.
Personally, I was originally 100% in favor of gay marriage. I thought the "normalcy" it provided would tone down the outlandish militant antics often endured at public gatherings (read up on the gay "pride" floats in the Boston St. Patricks Day parade if you want to understand this better).
Then the Civil Union concept seemed like a win-win. It provided the well deserved rights but didn't trample on the fervent traditionalists.
But guess what? The gay community cried foul.
Seems that the rights were only part of their outrage. They demanded to call their unions "marriage".
This fact gives credence to those who claim that the gay community are trying to force full compliance. The gay community demand it to be their way or no way, and those who oppose must clearly be bigots.
The fight is now over a mere word. And both sides are wrong. Yet both sides are right.
The thing is, this was seemingly already solved but the refusal to accept a solution that met very little resistance has soured many and left them trying to guess what their full agenda truly is.
That's how I see it. And it's based on the facts as they transpired in my neck of the woods.
I'm not like Victor. Most of my friends are straight. 😇 But even my friends and one family member who are gay have reached a similar conclusion. None are "married". They still think it's silly to oppose it, but they thought the civil union solution should have remained in place.
I'm just pissed because I happen to like Chick Fil A.
