FACTS are data points (ie, correlating data within a study). These facts allow someone to create a hypothesis, which answers your question. It may be proven wrong later (or it may be proven right), but it sure as hell does a better job of answering your question than something not based on any facts.
At this time there is no data pointing in a different direction.
And I have no problem with someone trying to work on a "cure". Who cares. Develop anything and let people decide what to use. What does it matter to me?
