"Opponents of the company's stance are planning "Kiss Mor Chiks" for Friday, when they are encouraging people of the same sex to show up at Chick-fil-A restaurants around the country and kiss each other."

This is where the "gay community" loses credibility, in my opinion.

Let's recall how this entire issue began: The mayor of Boston read an interview about the owner of Chik Fil-A supporting traditional, biblical marriage. This somehow outraged the mayor and he vowed to keep the business away from the freedom trail. A clear violation of rights and an attempt at abuse of power.
This then morphed into a gay rights issue. And the ugly from both sides came out in spades.

Now the gay community is going to use their favorite tactic by going militant. This kiss-off will turn more people AWAY from their cause. The extremists will never be swayed to accept gay marriage. Hell, they want to "cure" them. But those in the middle have historically been apathetic. They don't care what anyone does. They just don't want it thrown in their face.
Which is exactly what the plan will be. An in-you-face display that is unlikely to remain civil. Between the bigots barking outrageous slurs, to the gay couples who will most certainly offer more than a simple smooch, this will turn out to be a disaster.

I hope I'm wrong, and this proves to be the exception. But with history at my side, I doubt it.

Black Pastors: Banning Chick-fil-A From Cities ā€˜Same Thing’ As Banning Blacks From Restaurants

The President of the Coalition of African-American Pastors says supporters of traditional marriage are facing the same discrimination that blacks faced during the civil rights movement.

ā€œSome people are saying because of the position that Chick-fil-A has taken - they don’t want them in their cities,ā€ Rev. William Owens said at the National Press Club on Tuesday.

ā€œIt’s a disgrace. It’s the same thing that happened when I was marching for civil rights, when they didn’t want a black to come into their restaurant, they didn’t want us staying in their hotels. Now they’re saying, because we take a Christian position, they don’t want us in their cities.ā€

Owens continued, ā€œWell, we won’t take it. We will stand up and they will learn, they will learn that they can’t do that to any people, by destroying religion, by destroying the family, we will stand up.ā€

CAAP held the conference to announce it’s ā€œMandate for Marriageā€ campaign, a nationwide effort to urge black voters to refrain from supporting President Barack Obama unless he retracts his support for gay marriage.

The restaurant chain Chick-fil-A became a focal point in the gay marriage debate after company president Dan Cathy told the Baptist Press that the company was "guilty as charged" for backing "the biblical definition of a family.ā€

The comments fired up gay rights advocates and several lawmakers.

The Associated Presss reports a Chicago alderman vowed to block a Chick-fil-A proposed in his district, and Mayor Rahm Emanuel supported him, saying, "Chick-fil-A values are not Chicago values." Boston Mayor Thomas Menino wrote in a letter to Cathy: "There is no place for discrimination on Boston's Freedom Trail and no place for your company alongside it."

you're probably right.

I actually question this concept simply because if they are doing it in the CFA, then it's on private property.... that will end up with additional issues I'm not sure they will be on the right side of.

If they're doing it on the street, then it is their right... but not sure how it's going to play out. Couldn't they just picket the place? The right wing militant missionary moms do boycotts and pickets all the time (granted, they never seem to have an effect)... not sure why they think making out is going to work better.

While I wouldn't generalize it across an entire group, I've definitely run across it a few times, a number of my friends have a strange dislike for lesbians.

Get the coach talking about lesbians and rugby teams and he'll go on and on about control issues and ruining the team etc etc....
